My heart too torn to make any sense

Some days I wish the sun would go away

And I’d die for the rain to stay

That drowning feeling

In faded blues

Hard of breathing

Too concerned with pretending

Life isn’t a nightmare

And it’ll be better elsewhere

Breathing on this side of the soil

What were the factors

What were the little moments that made me stay

Would I choose them over and over again

Or would I wish to end the loop

The sun it never waits for me

Stealing light beams

Casting shadows

Please wake up

One grain at a time

As her smile fades into the waves

With each passing tide

Being lit with fire

Burning away to nothing

But ashes on the ground

I’ve never been so jealous

Of an inanimate object before

Going from something to non-existent

Trembled my core
