me: do non hopper replies
me, who literally only has hopper replies:Â
chieffather:
âThat is not what I meant,â he says. âLook, Iâm not going to take away any privileges or anything, you just - canât tell people to fuck off in the store.â He has to remember to keep his temper always with her, and with Jane. Heâd rather not have more exploding windows or fires to put out. âJust take a deep breath, alright? What Iâm saying is, these people are assholes. And theyâre immature, I know that. But being rude back gets you nowhere. I know they should know better, but I canât make them learn. You, at least, I can try to help so you donât grow up to be like that. Alright? Letâs not light anything on fire.â
As per the instruction, she forces a breath, taking it in and letting it out with calculated delay. He has a point, but she knows she isnât wrong. None of that would matter if the cabin burned down because she wasnât careful, though, so she forces herself to cool down just a touch before forming words. âBeing rude means they wonât do it again, if they donât get told off, they think they can get away with it.â Matter-of-fact, she punctuates every point she makes with a hand gesture. âIf you donât stop the cycle, it keeps going. Thatâs.. how it works, right?â
coffeeacontemplation:
Hopper furrowed his brows slightly at the girl. The way she asked what gruesome meant, reminded him of Jane. How she had trouble with some of the easiest words. That was because of how isolated she was her whole life. âUh⌠gruesome, it means like nasty. Bloody and gross. Something out of a horror movie.â It was hard explaining words that you just know. That you generally donât have to explain to people. Itâs why Jane had her dictionary. It helped him to explain things to her better. He didnât have that with him though.
âYou donât have a home?â He asks, just barely starting to piece things together. He didnât necessarily give her over to an orphanage or foster home. Something told him she wouldnât stay there, and he had the feeling this wouldnât be the last time she would wonder onto this property. âI have a nice house out in the words. You could always stay there if you want. If you donât like people.â She was much too young to be off on her own. âFor now, I just want to get you out of here. The specifics donât really matter.â
Sheâs quiet for a long moment after that. âNot anymore,â floats just beneath the surface, though she doesnât say it, thinking about how the lab had ruined her family made her sick to her stomach. The second closest thing she could think of associating with the concept was the lab itself, which was even worse. Hawkins Laboratory was closed, now, there was no need to feel so strongly on the subject.Â
âWhy? Shouldnât you just hand me over to...â Social services is the term sheâs missing. â... People who deal with kids?â No, that almost sounds worse, being in that kind of place would mean she would be trackable again. Just because this location is closed didnât mean people werenât still looking for her. âWhy are you helping me?â Though any answer would be, frankly, rather concerning.Â
fun fact if u become friends w/ multiple hoppers u can force them to adopt ur childrenÂ

u r a turd - meghan chieffather 2017 abt meÂ
coffeeacontemplation:
What was with this kid? What was so goddamn important about what happened to an abandoned lab. Hopper huffed, looking to the side in frustration for a moment. This kid really wasnât going to give it, was she? âPeople died, alright?â He replied, looking back at her. âAnd not peaceful, meaningful deaths. Deadly, gruesome ones.â He didnât want to get into detail. Didnât want to relive what had happened within the last two years. Yet he prepared to run after her if she planned to bolt. He wasnât about to let her run into the lab if he could stop her.
âWhatâs if even matter to you? Itâs just an abandoned building with a history. There are tons of stuff like that everywhere. Itâs honestly not that special.â He was somewhat trying to draw her attention away from what had happened. The less he talked about it, the better. âI can show you a bunch of other abandoned buildings with just as interesting histories. Ones that are less dangerous too.â
Good. They deserved the worst fates she could imagine, maybe worse, though they had given her the worst ideas she could think of. Her earlier smile returns, something much more satisfied, something much more genuine in her anger. âAlright, Iâll bite.â Cracking her knuckles, eyes train on the front entrance for a long moment. âGruesome. What does that mean? It sounds.. bad.â Glancing back to him, she takes a breath.Â
âWhere would you even take me?â She doesnât leave time for the question to be answered, refusing to make eye contact outright. It was best if she kept some things to herself, for now, maybe she could divulge a secret or two. âI donât exactly know anyone in town, much less have a place to stay.â Homeless, a word she personally doesnât know, but would sum up her situation nicely, escapes her.

⥠+ affection
Headcanon Meme / Accepting
reese loves physical affection but often gets worried about giving it. sheâs always too hot and worries if she gives hugs sheâll overheat whoever sheâs being affectionate with, esp if that person isnât normally used to her being so open.Â
instead, sheâll go for little hand squeezes, holding onto arms, touching shoulders, etc, never anything big.Â
batbeaten:
@sbjct010 // somewhere in hawkins idk
âhey, are you lost?â he asks, looking at the girl that seems to be confused. âi can help ya, if ya need it. i donât bite.â
âi... yeah.â she glances at the ground, rubbing at her arm briefly. âdo you know where the closest food place is? preferably somewhere... cheap. really, really cheap.â Â
Send me ⥠+ a word, and Iâll write a headcanon.
coffeeacontemplation:
Hopper felt a little better as he watched her stand and brush herself off. Though, her giggle wasnât sitting well with him. He wondered if she knew more than she let on. He didnât want to find out, though. Choosing to leave it for another time, and a different conversation. That is, if he ever saw the girl again. It was a small town, and chances were, that he would. Especially with how rambunctious she seemed to be.
âDark, and dangerous stuff.â That was all he wanted to say about it. âStuff I would rather not explain. I just donât know whatâs all left in there, and I would rather not take the chance of finding out.â He just hoped there wasnât anything residual in there, and it stayed that way. The government didnât need to re-open it. âSo just let me at least drive you to the arcade, or school, or something. Just so that I know youâre safe, and away from here. Deal?â
âNo.â Her answer is strict, fingers moving to trace the number on her arm. While the smile only falters a bit, her tone doesnât reflect the playfulness she held before. The other had answers, and she would do anything to get the knowledge she needed. All fun and games until insinuating he knew more, or that she would be any safer in somewhere loud and with lots of people.Â
Taking a small step back, eyes flicker between him and the building, wondering if it would be worth just running in and hoping he would leave, but she doubts it. That would just waste time sheâs already losing by having this conversation. âExplain or Iâm not going anywhere. What. Happened?â A flicker of heat passes from the palm of her hand to her wrist, something she suppresses quickly. âAnd donât give me some bullshit answer, âcause it sure as hell wasnât another gas leak.âÂ
coffeeacontemplation:
This obviously wouldnât be as easy as he had hoped. Sighing, he took a few steps closer to the girl. âListen, kid. I donât know how you got in here, but youâre not supposed to be here. This lab is dangerous. It was shut down for a reason, and you could get hurt.â Shut down because everyone who operated it died, but he wasnât about to say that. âYou donât have to tell me who you are, or where you live. Just let me make sure you get off the property safely.â
The last thing Hopper needed was a kid getting hurt. Especially at the lab. People rarely payed attention to it. Even when it was in operation, but if a kid got hurt here, people would seriously start asking questions. Especially if the kid went home and told their parents what they say inside of it. He didnât need the added risk of the girl being there, and he didnât know what else was lingering inside the lab.
Itâs hard not to outright start laughing at the concept, but she supposes this guy didnât know any better, very few people did. Taking in police uniform and attitude, she supposes the other doesnât mean harm, which means maybe a short giggle wouldnât get her in too much trouble. âIf itâs shut down, whatâs gonna hurt me? The rats?â A short laugh bubbles just beneath the surface, releasing as she speaks. âOoo the spooky tunnels, gonna snatch me up and eat me!âÂ
Standing, she brushes off her dress and her hands of the dirt, cracking a smile after a second. In the back of her mind, she knows heâs right, whatever went down here must have been serious business to not have it still swarming with employees. That maybe making jokes about child kidnapping when it very really happened, and very really happened to her, was maybe the wrong approach. Sheâs already on the topic, though, so thereâs no going back now. Â

@sbjct010 liked (X) for a starter
Hopper was doing his patrol around town when he found himself at the gate to the Hawkinâs Lab. The same lab that was decimated earlier that year. Getting out of his truck, he walked up to the gate. He only came around the lab to make sure that things were staying calm, but he never actually stepped inside the premises. He didnât want anyone else picking up where it was left off.
Scanning the area as he usually did, his eyes noticed a patch of red among the green grass. Focusing in on it, he realized it was a person. Unlocking and stepping through the gate, he called out to the kid.âHey! Youâre not supposed to be here! Letâs get you out of here and back home, alright? I wonât even tell your parents, but you gotta come with me.â
Being back at the lab was a mistake, but there was no way she could have known it was abandoned now. Leaving meant facing that now she really was alone, there really was nothing to go back to, on the other end this filled her with relief. No more experiments. No more subjects. Instead of leaving after doing a bit of poking around herself, she took a few minutes to contemplate what she was supposed to do now.Â
A few minutes turned into a few hours, snapped out of a mild existential crisis when she hears a voice. Right. Just because itâs shut down doesnât mean people donât still come around. âNo thanks, you can go back to whatever government based shithole you came from!â Is the reply, probably not a smart one, but all she wants to be is left alone. Not like heâs gonna find her parents anytime soon.Â
âYou look familiarâ
âNever seen one like you beforeâ
âCan you help? I seem to be lostâ
âYou look lostâ
âHave we met?â
âCan I help you?â
âYou dropped thisâ
âAre you new around here?â
âSorry! Didnât mean to fall into youâ
âWhat book are you reading?â
âDo you have the time?â
âHi, please pretend youâre talking to meâ
âCan you hold this?â
âThink fast!â
âGet to cover!â
âIncoming!â
âWhoâs there?â
âCome out!â
âI can see youâ
âAre you trying to hide behind me?â
âAre you hiding from someone?â
