Was out having a beer at Lyman’s Tavern on 14th St last night when a traveling puppet show out of Austin rolled up. The group is called Ballenarca and they were great. Really interesting music and a fun show. Drew a pretty good crowd for what I assume was a minimally promoted event. Always nice when you stumble into interesting stuff.

I moved to DC a few months ago for a new job so I haven’t had nearly as much time for photography outside of weddings on the weekend (which have been keeping me more than busy). However, I have been toting around my new Sony A7s (of which I am in love with) to and from work and taking some pics here and there. Here are a few:

Had such an incredible time meeting Courtney and John and their friends and family last weekend. I don’t think I’ve ever felt as welcomed while shooting a wedding before. Super nice folks and just a great loose atmosphere all around. Looking forward to diving into the rest of these!

Fire, Flour & Fork

I recently shot and edited a promotional video for the upcoming Fire, Flour & Fork festival here in Richmond VA. It’s billed as being “a gathering for the food curious” and looks to be a pretty interesting event for all you foodies. The photographs in the video we also taken by me and the music was recorded by my friend James Tweeddale.

I went by Suffletown Park yesterday evening to check out The Trillions play an acoustic set for the Scuffletown at Sundown series. The promotion for the event is entirely word of mouth but draws a sizable crowd, it’s a good idea to show up early to claim a good spot. A different band plays every Tuesday night at sundown, swing by if you are in the area and check it out.
