ATTENTION COSPLAYERS:
I would like to make the paint brand “Angelus” known. It is a special paint that is for leather, faux leather, rubber, and similar surfaces.
This is literally the best paint you can buy if you love a pair of shoes, but they aren’t in the right color for your character.
This stuff coats VERY well AND the coats of paint bend with your shoes. This means no cracking!!
In the photos above I took black rain boots and painted them with Angelus Turquoise. As you can see, they don’t look black any more! It’s so good!
I managed to paint two boots with a little one ounce bottle of the paint, and I still have a third of the bottle left over!
The paint dries very fast, so you can put layer on top of layer on top of layer without it streaking.
You can get the paint on Amazon and it comes in every color!
I just really wanted to make this known!! :D This stuff is amazing!

Don’t buy Angelus pain’t on Amazon, it’s like $6.99 an ounce. Buy it direct from their online store the poster above linked, the single ounce bottles are $2.95 there. Also, a little goes a long way, unless you have something HUGE to paint, you can probably do it with a small bottle. I barely dented the one I got doing all the black on this;
@cosplaytutorial !!
Great tips, and wow that jacket! <3
bell sleeves with a straight edge
so I’m currently working on Anastasia:
and I have this absolutely beautiful fabric for the sleeves and to add sparkle to the skirt:
so I patterned out a bell sleeve using this tutorial and ended up with this beauty:
here’s the problem, though! the edge of the sleeve is curved while the pattern I want going along the edge is straight! so here’s a brief tutorial of how I patterned the sleeve to get the design I wanted. idk if anyone else will find this useful since it’s kind of a specific problem to have but I thought I’d put it out there

How to Sew a Sailor Collar
If you cosplay anime and manga characters with any regularity, there’s a good chance that at some point you’ll end up needing to sew a classic seifuku. There are any number of variations on the basic idea, as seen in everything from Sailor Moon to Kill la Kill, but the sailor collar ties them all together – and once you have that essential piece figured out, you can easily translate it to any character.

One more quick tutorial! This is for perfect shoulders on vests without collars. Sort of a very specific thing, but if you’re making a vest, this’ll make it look extra nice! Technically I have done this tutorial before, but this time it has photos instead of really awful drawings. Yay photos! (Unfortunately they are photos of a really weird vest but uh… Whatever. Cosplay!)

So i made a wig tutorial on cosplay amino and the tutorial went down really well. I know i haven’t really posted anything about cosplay on this tumblr but anyway here it is. The zig zag method to hide wefts doesn’t work on all wigs as i tried it with this wig and it just downright refused so i found this method better.
HOW TO STYLE A WIG INTO PIGTAILS HIDING THE WEFTS
Step 1: Section off any hair you want to use at the front for a fringe or bangs and tie these so you don’t accidentally style them into something else also do this with any layers that are on the top of the wig if there are no layers section some off that you will style and cut later. (this is really important as this is how we hide the wefts
Step 2: Part the wig hair at the back into sections for the pigtails and tie them as high or low as you require don’t worry that any of the wefts are showing as we will cover those later.
Step 3: Take the section you tied at the top for layers and untie it. If the wig already has layers like mine did it will fall down over the wig hiding the wefts at the back of the wig, if the wig has no layers cut the back to look like the photos above make sure not to cut the layers too short as this will show the wefts.
Step 4: Untie the fringe/bangs and style as you wish. I was cosplaying askyary pamyu pamyu so i needed a full fringe.
Voila! You now have a wig with pigtails and no visible wefts. Shout out to my boyfriend modelling my wig. Kawaii doesn’t cover it hahaa
I’ve always hated doing shoe and boot covers until my friend introduced me to this method. Turns out it’s not very well known how to do it! So I decided to take some photos while I did my most recent ones and make a tutorial for others to use. This tutorial can be used for socks, shoe covers, spats, custom boots, and anything else you can think of!
I’m only covering how to make the pattern, not how to sew it because I feel like that part is pretty straight forward.
Here we go~
Skill level required: beginner Time: ~1hr Materials: -shoes -saran wrap - tape -pen -paper scissors -ruler -butcher paper - a body - a friend!(not required, but VERY helpful!)
Here are your supplies! I used blue tape because it’s what I had lying around, but I would suggest packers tape. It’s a lot easier.

I made a tutorial on how I did my pauldrons for smaug. In case you don’t know what drybrushing is. It’s my favourite technique for painting. Obviously.
I want to be confident and social like Honoka Kousaka.
Disguise Nico Nico Nii
NICO’S RAPIER.
Remind me to never ever sew another back pack ever again.
LOL. OKAY BUT I UPDATED THIS BAG AND REMIND ME TO UPLOAD IT LATER.
