STARDUST.

a little disclaimer, i base almost everything off of the original trilogy and my own headcanons. i am relatively canon divergent and i’m here just for fun, so i apologize in advance for the lack of actual writing you’ll find here. my portrayal of luke is a gay trans man on the autism spectrum. 

𝐆𝐀𝐑𝐋𝐈𝐂 .   you leave an impression wherever you go. your heart is so strong, so determined, so willing to go after whatever hole you see in the world, whatever wound you need to fix next. you're there. you're justice, hot red and pure gold, fairness incarnate, a paladin in shining armor come to protect and cleanse and heal and yet sometimes you wonder if you're the most corrupt, dirty being in the world, a fraud, a monster in hero's clothing. 

the world is so intense and you are so small, so fragile, and no matter how hard you try you're never good enough. you want to be good. you want to be good enough. you try so hard and yet the world is so dark and angry and cruel. perfection is always just out of reach and you want things to be okay so bad you bleed with it. you just want things to be right, to be good, to be fair, but you don't know if they ever can be. if you can ever be.

𝐁𝐔𝐂𝐊𝐎  ??   𝐃𝐈𝐃   𝐇𝐄   𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐋𝐋𝐘   𝐉𝐔𝐒𝐓   𝐒𝐀𝐘   𝐁𝐔𝐂𝐊𝐎  ??     luke  paused  ,  hands  hovering  over  the  partially  busted  control  panel  of  his  landspeeder  .   looking  up  at  the  man  mere  feet  away  ,  he  shook  his  head  ,  and  returned  his  attention  to  the  repairs  he  was  attempting  to  make   (  even  a  temporary  fix  would  do  )   ,   ❝   you  don’t  understand  ,  i  don’t  have  the  time  to  sit  around  and  wait  .   if  i  don’t  get  back  soon  ,  i’m  done  for  .   ❞   wind  still  howled  outside  ,  and  although  it  seemed  to  have  let  up  from  the  intense  storm  that  had  hit  from  seemingly  nowhere  ,  luke  knew  it  was  still  dangerous  .

unfortunately  ,  the  atmospheric  interference  didn’t  care  about  his  safety  ,  or  his  need  to  get  ahold  of  his  uncle  .

the  speeder’s  control  panel  sparked  suddenly  ,  and  luke’s  hand  recoiled  quickly  ,  though  not  fast  enough  to  save  him  from  the  light  shock  .   frustration  bubbled  in  his  chest  ,  and  as  he  let  out  a  short  groan  ,  he  hit  the  side  of  the  vehicle  with  his  unaffected  hand  .   still  ,  it  felt  like  some  sort  of  sign  .   after  all  ,  if  he  died  out  in  this  storm  ,  it  certainly  would  be  worse  than  just  waiting  it  out  .   luke  sighed  ,  fingers  raking  through  his  hair  ,   ❝   okay  .   fine  .   looks  like  i’m  stuck  here  .   ❞   

𝐓𝐇𝐄   𝐋𝐀𝐒𝐓   𝐓𝐈𝐌𝐄   𝐇𝐄   𝐇𝐀𝐃   𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐋𝐋𝐘   𝐆𝐎𝐓𝐓𝐄𝐍   𝐒𝐈𝐂𝐊   𝐇𝐀𝐃   𝐁𝐄𝐄𝐍   𝐇𝐘𝐏𝐄𝐑𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐑𝐌𝐈𝐀  .    he  couldn’t  remember  exactly  when  ,  only  that  he  was  fifteen  at  the  time  ,  and  very  lost  .   he  was  sure  he’d  be  grounded  for  the  rest  of  his  natural  life  after  he’d  miraculously  woken  up  back  home  ,  but  instead  ,  his  uncle  had  hugged  him  tighter  than  he  could  ever  remember  .   back  then  ,  it  usually  felt  as  if  owen  were  on  a  personal  mission  to  get  in  the  way  of  all  of  luke’s  fun   —   now  ,  he  looked  back  at  his  own  complete  lack  of  self  preservation  and  felt  an  understanding  .   his  uncle  was  only  trying  to  protect  him  .   he  cared  .

still  ,  illness  had  never  been  a  significant  factor  in  any  of  the  young  jedi’s  misadventures  .   not  nearly  as  much  as  the  deadly  creatures  in  every  burrow  of  tatooine  ,  or  his  need  to  prove  himself  to  whoever  had  enough  toleration  left  to  pay  him  any  attention  .   it  felt  like  he  was  making  up  for  plenty  of  lost  time  now  ,  though  .

looking  up  ,  luke’s  gaze  settled  on  the  steaming  bowl  for  a  moment  before  the  words  fully  processed  ,  and  he  offered  what  he  could  of  a  genuine  smile  .   one  would  suspect  that  growing  up  on  a  desert  planet  would  land  a  hot  bowl  of  soup  damn  near  the  bottom  of  a  list  of  things  you  want  to  eat   —   right  below  a  cold  bowl  of  soup  ,  and  right  above  pure  sand  .   right  now  ,  though  ,  it  felt  as  if  luke  couldn’t  possibly  be  warm  enough  ,  even  if  he  were  walking  all  day  under  the  heat  of  two  suns  .   gingerly  taking  the  bowl  in  his  hands  ,  he  simply  let  it  warm  his  fingers  for  the  time  being  ,   ❝   thanks  ,  ben  .   seems  like  you’re  always  saving  my  life  ,  huh  ??   ❞
