It was odd not wearing his usual robes, but Kuru wouldn’t deny that black looked good on him.  For the longest time, the orange kai found himself gazing in the mirror, fretting over what would be good enough for an ANGEL of all people. Besides Lord Zeno, they were the highest form of authority in the multiverse.  Not just anything would do for someone so prestige. 

No.

A man like this was going to take hours of presentation.  Not a single strand of hair could be out of place. 

After all, he was representing his universe as well.  Even if it was in a slightly different way.

When the Supreme Kai was satisfied with the way he looked, he transported himself to Universe Two where he saw the angel.  He was hardly going to make him wait when he’d sat aside time to be with him like this.

“I pride myself on punctuality…not as much as some of my…OTHER comrades, but I digress. You look stunning.”

“You look just as stunning. You wear black so well.”

He took the Kai’s hand, kissing the top of it.

“Not a fold out of place. I wouldn’t have expected anything less from someone with such meticulous standards.”

Sour always expected this out of Kuru. When he did anything, he did it big (not to mention perfectly). At least the two could always agree on the importance of appearances.

He waved a hand, gesturing to the grand venue to their left. It was a massive hall, and the only one Sour found fit both of their expectations.

Being an angel had quite a few benefits.

Instead of the typical meeting at Kuru’s home, Sour had arranged something different. All he had told the Kai was to dress in something formal (that wasn’t his uniform), and to meet him at this precise location. the angel was dressed to the nines as well; a white tux replaced his usual yellow robes. 

He didn’t even give the other a name or place—just the coordinates. 

It was in Sour’s home universe, so it wasn’t like the name would mean anything to Kuru, anyway...

Leaning against a small tree, he waited for the sound of his lover’s teleport. And just like clockwork, Kuru was right on time.

As always.

“I knew you wouldn’t be a moment late.

Kuru had just come back from visiting another universe - more precisely shoving into Roh’s face what a loser he was in comparison to him.  However, such things were stressful and he found himself needing to come home before the stress aged him any more.

Dealing with Roh on a normal level was bothersome, much less trying to hold conversations where he didn’t get yelled at.

It would be nice to finally come home and relax.

However once he opened the door, he found a new surprise waiting for him.  Albeit this one was much more pleasant.

“What…are you doing here?” Kuru blinked, unable to truly comprehend what Sour was doing in his house.  "I mean…that was rude of me. What I meant to say was, what brings you to my house, Lo- I mean Sour.“

“Visiting, of course.” 

He winked, before turning to his mess of kitchen tools. With a snap, they were all cleaned and neatly put away, just as Sour had found them.

He didn’t want to make any more burden for the Kai than he was already dealing with. The angel turned back and walked towards the other man, taking Kuru’s hand in his own.

Pots and pans found themselves scattered about the Kai’s kitchen as Sour hummed to himself, slowly mixing the ingredients for a batter. Thankfully, Kuru was stocked with ingredients, so the sudden idea to bake wasn’t too difficult to bring together.

And, since the other deity wasn’t here (yet), it made for the perfect gift to thank him for his patience. It wasn’t often that Sour could come visit, but he was able to putt aside a small chunk of time just for Kuru. It was something special... and something he could hardly pull off with a position like his.

As he slid the pan into the oven, Sour heard that ever-familiar jingle from the front of the house. Shutting the oven door quickly, he leaned over with a gentle smile to welcome his lover home.

“My, it's been too long, my dear Kuru.

“I am always honored that you show me your weaknesses, brother.  I will keep them close to my heart, just as I do our bond.”

“As do I. 

“You put that type of loyalty into our bond. However a part of me thinks that might be because we’re tied by species.  You seem afraid of commitment, brother.”

“I don’t like that you figured that out about me so easily.

Or...

“I assure you, what it looks and what it IS are very different, brother.”

“Of course.

“Not quite.  I don’t do any of the things you do.”

“I...”
