Oh, LOVE!! No matter what, love is love! Never stop allowing yourself to feel love and definitely be the giver of love! Love is valuable! Love is the resource to living a full life! Love never hurts, but LOVEwill always correct you! Love cannot and will NEVER deceive your heart! Love does not look at your complexion! Love does not care about your bank account, neighborhood, body type, hair, nothing about your life status stops love, love will always love you! Love is the reason we smile. Love makes you smile and laugh out loudly! Love is that embrace you feel when you pray or simply talk to God, yessss, that feeling!! Love is that moment you share with your best friend, no matter the distance; you will always love one another! Love is saying yes to the one you will share the rest of your life with! Love, Love, Love!!! Love is the giggle of an innocent little child, priceless!! Love is the connection you have when you stare into the eyes of a baby, that connection is indiscernible in its uniqueness! ~Rainy Day Mood~ “Some people feel the rain. "I'm voting for them because they paved the way" This morning as I sat in a swanky waiting room, downtown Washington DC, I reached over for a magazine to kill time. I noticed the inside of the magazine had been torn, a page ripped up & left on the center pages, now Im curious to see why the person scratched through what was not destroyed. As I began to read the little that remained, I realized someone didn't want this truth out or was just being mean. What I read really mafe me take a deep breath; it was about a black man trying to vote for the first time. The following is part of what was legible, "They'd ask you: 'How many bubbles in a bar of soap?" I tell you all that made really sad: so many black people had it so hard! My grandparents & parents also have stories that melt my heart with sadness & pain for them. The thought of Black people showing up to register/vote be given a test that had nothing to do with our country or voting, digusts me! How does someone harbor such hate for people who have never hurt them? How does someone live with themselves with that degree of hatred? Tears fill my eyes,my heart is heavy as I write. I shared the magazine with w/my friend he shook his head. He dealt with it better than I. He said, "as a photographer traveling extensively I have seen/heard it all & still I hold my head as a proud/Black successful American man, who votes! VOTE! Its your right! VOTE because you are a person, you MATTER! VOTE beacause we may not look alike, speak the same languages, pray to the Savior,believe in the same values of life! VOTE because you have children! VOTE because there are sisters w/preexisting illnesses! VOTE because my grandparents had to drink from "Colored Only" water fountains or was it "nigger only"...because my grandparents couldnt used the same restroom as white people, because my father was in a car accident where a white man ran the stop sign & was killed, but because my father was STILL a Black man in their eyes he killed a White man! Because not too long ago is here again if we dont VOTE! #45 is the author of hate these days! His plans are not for ALL people! "I Hear The People" (short version) Hear the people say, "yes,yes,ya'll to the beat, ya'll..." As they wonder where peace has gone.Neighborhoods have changed, no smiling faces. Abandoned buildings, scenery aint the same, broken promises everywhere, feels lonely & cold as hell in this summers heat. Hear the people say, "yes, yes, ya'll to the beat ya'll." No one speaks,heads held down, no eye contact, feels like love dont live here anymore,children arent playing or laughing, theyve forgotten how to be children, instead they are picking up guns, aiming them at each other, bang,bang youre dead & I dont care...DESENSITIZED... they dont know peace,only anger. I see the elderly scurrying through the streets, afraid to let the sun go down, cause the monsters come out at night,hurry grandma lock uour doors. "Singing In Whispers" Its Sunday morning and I can't clearly hear the birds outside my window... Their morning song is like the sound of whispering...almost sad, distant with worry... Theres a rose standing alone blossoming in the Fall breeze...its trying to survive through the chill in the air, through the whispers of whats to come... Theres a sense of change coming, an unknown factor, a shaking up that will change, everything... If I listen closely I can hear the choir singing from the corner church, it sounds like a whisper, but its clear, the message, the feeling, the deliverance... She cried as she said, “Definitely pray more” I sometimes forget what date it is or is it, the day of the week… Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday Saturday Sunday… I rely on what’s in front of me, the scheme of things may look the same, but there is change… How she described every day of the week, her week… There is always change, we just have to avail ourselves to listen… Allow her to hear… Sometimes what we see isn’t where the answer lies… (She is finding her way) So, those days I forget to write down my thoughts, plan better, be better, change my direction and definitely pray more… those are the days I close my eyes and just, listen…  She will find her way…   ~Saun~ This poem is all about last night’s class.
