Primary School: Night Corp Academy- Valerie’s father is an Arasaka executive and her mother is a much younger socialite philanthropist. They send her to NC’s most exclusive school, where she makes a point to charm her teachers and befriend high-performing classmates.

Secondary School: Night Corp Academy- She starts going by Val. She plays soccer and esports, is president of the debate club, leads the student council, is captain of the smallbore shooting team, and maintains a strategic social life. Val begins abusing stims.

College: Night City University- She studies cybersecurity, political science, and intelligence analysis. She meets Jackie Wells, who is initially on campus selling drugs to her peers. He calls her V—it catches on. She forms some close relationships, arguably for the first time. Her father dies from health complications her junior year.
