And yes, I will never deny I am a privileged white girl but as a privileged white girl it would be extremely irresponsible and an extension of aforementioned privilege to ignore something racist that i'd observed on the grounds that I'm white and it's "not my problem?" Also on that note, I've stated many times that if my argument or my wording or anything at all was unjustified/ inappropriate given my race, any of my black followers can call me out on it and I'll take it as an opportunity to be educated and to learn from it. I will never, EVER understand racism firsthand and I will never experience it, and I do not claim to.
Black artists did start to appear in mainstream media during this time, yes, good job, you can read and/or you remember your 6th grade American History class! However, at the same time, singers/musicians of color were denied from playing in 'white' venues which put a huge damper on potential exposure; exposure that could have been present if they were white! Because guess what, racism.
Also, shame on you for accusing me of"attacking men." That's some internalized sexism if I've ever seen it. Like, for fucks sake, I play Fallout 4 and I'm currently playing through it for the third time so I can try out survival mode. It's an amazing game, with a wonderful aesthetic. But since I have a functioning sense of right and wrong, I can separate the aesthetic of the wasteland that I appreciate with romanticizing an entire era that was horrendously unfair for an entire group of people.
