First, you have to make sure the pond is bigger than the ice rink youāre going to use. If the rink is bigger than the pond and the rink intersects with land, the sims will not skate because they will see it as obstruction.Ā
Ok, so youāve made your pond big enough, this is what it should look like:
Now youāre gonna go at the edge of the water and using the Raise terrain tool with the smallest diameter, raise the ground by 2 clicks.
Do this 4 more times on the adjacent squares, so that you have a row of 5 squares raised by 2 clicks. Should look like this:
Next, select the foundation tool and make a 5x5 foundation starting from the corner of the first raised square.
Time to type in boolprop constrainfloorelevation false. Youāre now going to place modular stairs as follows:
After placing the stairs, a piece of the foundation should be slightly under water.
Now go ahead and delete the foundation by holding ctrl while selecting it.
You should be left with the two sets of stairs. Starting from the corner of the lower stairset, create a 2x2 foundation.
Delete the stairs. Return to the previously raised land and create a 2x2 foundation that aligns with the one in the water.
Place some stairs to connect the two foundations. Should look like this:
You can now build the rest of the foundation the rink is going to sit on. Before you do that, I would recommend using the Level terrain tool on the bottom of the pond to ensure there arenāt any gaps in the foundation.
Use frillen's invisible tile to make the foundation invisible. I placed on a few tiles so you can see the difference. Then grabĀ Sirona's invisible ice rink and place it on your foundation. Make sure there is enough space for you sims to enter and exit the rink comfortably.
And thatās it! Your sims can now skate on ponds. Hereās how it looks when itās frozen:
Of course, donāt forget to place stairs on the other side of the land foundation, so that sims can actually reach it.
Your sims wonāt sit on top of the ice perfectly, they will sink a tiny bit.
But other than that, there should be no other issues. Happy skating!
trying to place a skating rink seamlessly on top of a pond and then have it accessible from the land so that i can later make it invisible and pretend sims are actually skating on the frozen pond has taken years off my life and i still have no idea how to do it
did you know that: a. Ctrl + Right Click resets a thumbnail and b. it also works for default replaced wallpapers/floors which I didnāt think to check until now but Iām so glad I did cause I thought Iād have to guess what each default looked like forever heh

Hey, guys, I need help with something. My UI is super small and the one that bugs me the most is the buy mode catalogue. I have like 25 items in a row and the icons are very small and hard to see. Is there any fix for this? Google wasnāt very helpful. I tried GCPās clean UI, but it didnāt make a difference.
#Edit 16.10.2021: Iāve just downloaded @lazyduchessāsĀ Custom LauncherĀ and it fixed the UI icons. I can see everything clearly now, I have no words to describe how grateful I am THANK YOU!!!!!!!
Some of my sims are uploaded on Box, but unfortunately that Box account got deactivated due to inactivity a long time ago. I also do not have any of the actual sims bc they were all on a previous computer that died and I wasnāt able to save anything from it. Iāve been pondering whether I should edit all those posts and delete the download links, but I guess now would be a good opportunity to ask if anyone still has those sims and if theyād like to share them. Her cat Little has a cancerous tumor in her eye, and she needs help. Little is 12.5 years old, and has helped Kayleigh pull through some extremely difficult times in her life, so needless to say, she is devastated by the prognosis.Ā

Ā Ā Dear Simblr community, I know itās been quite a while ever since I made a post on here, some of you might not even remember me but I do remember you and all the wonderful years spent together on here playing this beautiful game. I used to create custom content for Sims 2 and a Machinima series called `Lucky Ones` over on YouTube, my page being strictly dedicated to those two things. However, once I went to college in late 2015, my activity slowly started to decrease due to all the work I had to do for school. Now, 3 years later I graduated top of my class and received my bachelor degree in fashion design, something I have always loved and something you can definitely notice my interest in even in my sims content.Ā
Ā Ā The reason why I am making this post right now is because I need your help with something. I have been nominated at ELLE STYLE AWARDS 2018 for Best Young Designer, an event created by the fashion magazine ELLE here in my country. The tricky part about this is that I need the public to vote for me in order to win, as it represents a part of the final verdict. Ever since I presented my graduation collection back in July, I have been receiving so much positive feedback and been featured in many fashion magazines here in my country and internationally.
