midnightentity replied to your post: Why is everyone copying your photobenefit for Empires idea? JS OK.
i love you so much and damn girl if itâs copying anyone should be PROUD AS SHIT to copy you, i know i am. well-spoken and the epitome of on-point.
You're the best, Kati. Seriously. Does this weirdly passive-aggressive post mean you're putting up prints? I haven't been on Tumblar lately bc irl but if so kindly link me to them. BUT FOR REAL. I don't think it's copying. I can't even type that word without rolling my damn eyes. Tom Conrad has been selling prints to help fund his music career from the get-go, so if anything he's the inspiration behind the whole idea. IT'S NOT MY FAULT THAT THIS FANBASE HAS SOME REALLY AMAZING ARTISTS, OK. And you're one of them.Â
Why is everyone copying your photobenefit for Empires idea? JS OK.
Copying? Lol. Is this the fifth grade? This is about to get long.
I thought of a way to help my favorite band out because they're perpetually broke as shit and they're good dudes. Their fans/my friends then went out of their collective way to buy said prints FOREMOST to help the band, and also because they like my photos. First of all, I'm always really touched that people would want something I made. That's pretty much the pinnacle of amazingness for me. And secondly, I think it's fucking awesome and indicative of the kind of stand-up people Empires fans are that they'd move mountains to help the band out. I didn't trademark the idea. I don't deserve credit for other people's generosity and kindness. This isn't a contest or something that can be 'copied.' It's enough that people like what I do, and that I can send a little piece of Empires shows to fans all over the place - from someone who's seen them a million times, to someone who lives in the UK or Seattle and has never been able seen them live - and at the same time try to help out a band who's given all of their fans so much.Â
One time Tom and I were talking and he said I'd never know what it means to them that I do these benefits because it's the difference between sleeping in the van one night or getting a hotel and actually being able to have a hot shower. I know they're not lol starving kids in Africa, but it touched me. Honestly I don't know many people these days who are getting rich doing what they really love to do. The fact that they'd rather sleep in the van because they're broke than not tour because they don't have the money just makes me want to do more for them. They're doing it for the right reasons, and so are the photographers who've embraced the idea of selling their art to benefit this band we all love.Â
Just saying, ok.
If you've sent me fanmail in the past idk 3 months and haven't received a response you should know that i just got it all. Right now.

When you're apparently fighting with someone on the internet and you had no idea until a 3rd party mentions it like it's old news
Looks like i have plans 9/13.
High School Football Stadium of the Day: Eagle Stadium, in Allen, TX, a Dallas suburb, opens later this month after three years of construction, and tongues are wagging at its $60 million price tag.
The state-of-the-art facility boasts 18,000 seats (all bleachers), two luxury suites, a pro-quality press box, and a 3,400-square-foot HD video scoreboard. The project was funded by a $119 million bond package approved by 63 percent of voters three years ago.
âIt shows that the people of Allen support their kids,â said Allen head football coach Tom Westerberg.
Meanwhile, by the 2011-2012 school year, the Allen school district was facing a $4.5 million budget shortfall and was forced to cut 44 teaching positions and 40 support positions.
Luckily for Allen football fans, the schoolâs operating budget was separate from construction; voters eventually agreed to increase property tax rates by $0.13 to offset state education cuts.

Ween I'm leaving this here because he looks like caramel just sayin.Â
This is Evin Andrew Smith. Evin was a cheerful and bright baby with the thickest head of hair I had ever seen. At 2 weeks old, he actually had to have a haircut, if that gives you an idea. He was beautiful and his favorite thing, aside from nomming on his stuffed cow, was cuddling. Evin was, in short, a serious inspiration to everyone he was around. His mother was an inspiration, even more so. She continues to inspire me with her crusade to educate everyone she meets about children with Down Syndrome. In December, of 2009, Evin began to have seizures. These seizures grew more and more intense and eventually, Evin was hospitalized. He was in the hospital for New Yearâs and on up until the end of February. There were surgeries, there were guesses, and there was strength. Evinâs mother, Pam, offered the most amazing amount of strength that I have ever seen someone show. Unfortunately, in late February, Evinâs health began to fail. Sadly, on February 27th, Evinâs mother, Pam, had to make the decision to take her beautiful and precious boy off of life support. In the years after Evinâs death, she has crusaded for the things she believes in. She loves deeply, without reservation, and Evin was everything sheâs ever loved most in the world. Since his death, she has raised money for research and awareness. She has been someone to aspire to, because she is amazing. And this year? Her goal is to simply raise $300 for the Down Syndrome Buddy Walk here in Charlotte, NC. I would appreciate it - more than I could say - if you could find it in your heart to possibly donate or even to just spread the word. If you canât, then obviously, I totally understand. Iâm not at the point of being able to donate at this moment. But please, any kind of help is loved and I know that it would make Pamâs year to see donations roll in. The click-through link on the photo above should take you to Pamâs fundraising page. If it doesnât work, please let me know so I can remedy that. Thanks for your time! -Christina

It begins again... (Taken with Instagram)
We are âvery disappointed that this happened, and apologize that we are inconveniencing our neighborsâ, Chevron spokesman Walt Gill said.

Did he really say Inconvenience? Really?!
Inconvenience, force residents to seal up their homes and "shelter in place" lest the toxins in the burning crude kill them outright... totally the same thing.
Sometimes on here I find myself looking for the downvote button.
Slashdot flagged a German news story in which an expert noted that mass murderers Anders Breivik and James Holmes both lacked much of a social media presence, leading to the conclusion, in Slashdotâs phrasing, that 'not having a Facebook account could be the first sign that you are a mass murderer.'

There are reports that Sikhs at the Oak Creek temple brought food and water to the police and journalists on the scene today, as part of their religious tradition of hospitality. My heart broke a little more when I read thatâŚ
Yeah that sounds pretty likely, actually. It's one of the tenets of Sikhism that no one visiting a temple should ever go hungry or thirsty. They also believe that every religion worships the same God, so everyone is related and interconnected and they take care of everyone as if they're their own - because they are.Â

Tumblr I wasn't even in your window why are you making entries...
Seriously, Tumblr. GTFO.Â
"You can come and be equal."
I just watched a Sikh spokesman on CNN invite everyone to their local gurdwara to have a meal on Sunday. It really affected me. Out of all of the religions I've studied, Sikhism has always held a special place for me. Like it just makes sense: work hard, love your neighbors, take care of others, never let a person go hungry, don't engage in blind ritualism (aka Catholic mysticism) or idolatry. I think if anything should be a religion, it's the simple practice of being good to your fellow man while forsaking all of the bullshit that makes religion, well, bullshit.
I really want to do something to help, but I don't know what I could possibly do.Â
