seeing SFTH with Paul Merton and Suki Webster as guests, and it's almost comical in itself how Merton just doesn't gel with SFTH (except AJ)
I came sheerly for the spectacle of this crossover, and it's amazing how their styles and senses of humour clash
I'm sure part of it is SFTH being a bit awestruck, with Merton guesting on their show rather than SFTH members on his, but it's amazing how 'off' the vibes are
maybe the second half will be better, maybe Merton will smile at anyone who isn't Suki or AJ. but damn it's been a weird one so far
also I'm sorry but most of this audience doesn't realise how iconic the Comedy Store is to British improv, nor how Merton is synonymous with British improv and popularising it (naïve kids that they are. I say at the grand age of 22)

Watching Edgar lose Poe and still have to pretend he’s fine even though all growing up he was shown and taught that the only special thing about him is his curse is a special little rock at the bottom of my heart. Imagine being 11 years old and losing the only thing that (you were taught) makes you special and worthwhile. All he can do is put on a fake smile and tell his friends he’s fine while screaming into a hole and clutching Egg like his life depends on it.

I’ve been on a massive barbershop kick lately and I think I’ve officially found my favorite video ever.

the difference between the plagueround and lsatsf is that in the plagueround the characters may get lucky and maintain some degree of whimsy (see: ep 5 kevin, "am i the only sane one??") whereas lsatsf is comprised of religious trauma, dead wife flashbacks, a slave forced to fight as entertainment, codependecy on abusers, lost his partner after being transformed
