âSuuuure, you can only fool me so much with what ya got goinâ for ya.âÂ
An obvious tease to his words, Jack chuckles at the sputtered response. How amusing, though, it seems it becomes short-lived the moment Sevren pokes backâaiming at the appearance and quality of his precious space.Â
Jack held no hesitation to stick his own tongue out back at the other, more accompanied by a glare due to the topic at hand, âAs if you speak for me. Watch your mouth before I kick ya out the door with no desserts.â Like that would provoke much, but it wasnât below Jack to smack that across Sevrenâs face if need be.Â
Nor was it below Jack to accept any compliments after a so-called âinjuryâ, treating it more as if those words instantly boosted his ego. Which wouldnât be too far from the truth.Â
âGlad ya noticed, really. Wouldnât want you to think that Iâm all bronze and no brains, thatâd be funnyâbut that tactic would get boring after a few short runs.âÂ
Noting how Sevren complimented his room, Jack gives the other a cocked brow and a slight inquisitive frownâŚÂ More so to put Sevren on edge by his reaction rather than to be genuinely upset by it. Sure, this is his personal room, one that he chooses to live and spend his time in whenever need be⌠yet, it would be unreasonable to think that someone wouldnât find it off.Â
After all, heâs seen other rooms, and they could never compare to his own. Unless⌠well, those reasons will be untouched.Â
For now, he puts his attention elsewhere.Â
âOh, donât mind them. Sure, you may have to get to know them personallyâbut they wonât bite. Câmon, Iâll lead ya to the kitchen.âÂ
With ease, Jack steps beside Sevren and, without another thought, places a hand on his waist and moves an arm to where it is placed around Jackâs shoulder. This is to prevent weight from being placed in areas that could potentially trigger pain to an injury. If Sevren protested, it will be ignored.Â
Opening the door to his room, Jack leads Sevren thoughâallowing him to see further into the hide-out. It is messy, that is for sure. Empty liquor bottles, some cigarettes laid about on the floor and tables. And some furniture looked like they had been subject to anger management⌠thanks to the slashing and stuffing sticking from odds and ends. Â
Once into the kitchen, Jack allows Sevren to be freeâto lean against a counter or nearby chair, to open the fridge to showcase many types of snacks and drinks. Some were obvious leftovers from Jackâs main pick, Tomâs Burgers, as greasy labeled paper bags were stuffed in random places throughout the many choices.Â
âWe got, ughâŚâ Jack frowns as he recognized one of the choices immediately, â⌠PizzaâŚâ A look of disgust for a moment before it disappears as he became distracted with the other options, âWe do have sweets I think ya might like! We got regular cupcakes, but I think we still have some ice-cream cupcakes that Lucas wanted to get a while ago, if ya wanna try that.âÂ
Sevren is quick to note Jackâs protectiveness of his space. That glare did say it all, not that it will stop him. The snake planned to use the information to tease Jack in the futureâThough heâs quickly distracted from that train of thought by the harsh threat made.
âHow could you say such a thing? To someone wounded?!â
If the place being a little messy makes Jack happy⌠Heâll tolerate it for now. But the threat wasn't needed, and Sevren doesnât plan to just leave it be. Once heâs feeling up for it, heâll be sure to come and give the place a little tidy up, without asking permission.
... He wants desserts before that.
âAll bronze and no brains? My friend, I have never seen you as that simple.â
âYou provide much too much entertainment, and company. While I do not doubt your combat abilities; I donât plan on testing them either.â
Even if tormenting jack is still on the cards.
His room. Sevren meant what he said; yes the location was strange, but it was well suited for Jack, he thought. He found the fact he was welcomed in here to rest, quite comforting. Like he was trusted.
Sevren's heart may be missing, but it was still warmed by it all. He noticed he was no longer tense, like he could relax here. A rare feeling away from his own home.
âI donât expect they will bite me. By your words, I assume they will not mind a stranger inside their little secret base.â
One walking around in a blanket, and stealing their food, even.
But as Sevren thought more on the possible strangers lurking, he was soon tugged up. Once again, heâs taken back by the sudden action of concern. As he was about to voice protest, he stopped. Partly because he was still trying to understand the situation, and partly because he didnât think it would stop Jack anyway.
And heâs certainly not physically strong enough to argue either. All he can do is take a blanket with him, for protection.
After that, the snake is too distraught at the state of the furnishings, and the mess left about. The scent of lingering alcohol, seemingly common. He doesnât want to end up like that furniture, either, should he misbehave. Heâs once again fighting the urge to clean this place up, and finding himself wondering about Jack's well being, while staying here.
At least he knows how he can return the favour later.
Forced into the kitchen, Sevren pouted as he leaned onto a counter, still wrapped in a blanket. He's quick to examine the location, to see what state it is also in.
"Not someone who enjoys pizza, hm?"
Sevren is neutral on it, and he's also swiftly distracted by the much better choice offered to him-- The snake's eyes lighting up with joy at the thought.
"Oh! I won't say no to cupcakes, especially ice-cream ones. Would you share with me? Eating alone isn't as enjoyable."
