Why tf are they projecting their sad straight childhood crushes onto the tortured and lonely queer main character??? We gave them way too much credit because clearly they don't understand how different an unrequited queer crush can be. Especially when they've set it in the 80s during the aids crisis. This is sick and twisted they don't give 2 shits about their queer audience, they just want to pat themselves on their backs
no final outfits slander on my watch, not when theyāre in so much green!!
I must say that I'm tired of seeing the same argument "it's realistic that queer people are rejected, it's a queer experience" with all the respect fuck off. I'm tired of hearing this bullshit, as if rejection was only an applicable concept for queer people, straight people also get rejected a lot and people don't talk about that and it's not represented enough. And a lot of queer people have beautiful stories full of love, and we need more representation of that, I'm tired of queerness=rejection, because that's becoming a stereotype. Like, your experience doesn't define an entire community, every queer experience is different that's why we also need happy queer representation that ends up with the love of his life happy. I'm so tired that people use the copy and paste to say the same argument all the time, like yeah it's realistic for some queer people obviously, but not for everyone, let's not generalize and normalize that being queer is ending up being rejected constantly.

I forgot to post beb (sorry for the typo in the caption, I'm Illiterate)
"you're the writer, you control how the story goes" no not really. i wrote the first sentence and then my characters said "WE WILL TAKE IT FROM HERE" and promptly swerved into an electrical fence.
Also shoutout Will Byers skilled flirter because the way to get him from "you're kinda Vecna" to "you're the magic we need" IS to say "oh, so I'm evil" with the subtext of correct me correct me correct me correct me.
That's the move dude. That's the best way to get there without outright saying "tell me how wonderful you think I am". Nailed it, kid, first try.
your daily reminder that mike was able to call will a sorcerer without el rubbing his back and calling him petnames
"eyes on me" "eyes on me remember" and suddenly he's 13 years old watching men with guns get torn apart by demodogs and he doesnt want these kids to see that. he doesnt want these kids to remember that the way he does. holy shit. mike wheeler.

wait so
i wonder what this means for will
so did he get powers after the upside down or has he always had them somehow and they just unleashed now?
im also lowkey worried that heās gonna push himself too hard in vol. 2. i feel like heās gonna blame himself for anything that goes wrong, unfortunately. i wonder the kind of parallels weāll get with will and el and how thatll sit with mikeā¦.. god i honestly didnt expect this plot line at all. im loving it tbh.
[Elphaba] closes the door and and it's this sort of like smile for her and keep it and be strong and it's going to be okay. She shuts the door and the breakdown, the both we have. Neither one of us knew that was happening on the other side of the door. We can't see each other. That's a door that is closed on her. And we're blind. I didn't know that she did that. I didn't. We both did it at the same time. And [Jon M. Chu] just basically caught so that he could film it for real. He had a camera shooting in in profile for us. So he shoots this, he shoot that, and then when we shot the door closing, he shot it in profile. So he could see both of us, but we couldn't see each other. ā Cynthia Erivo via The Official Wicked Podcast

ok so i see a lot of people thinking that robinās speech means that byler wonāt happen and i just want to give a little analysis on why i donāt think that the two canāt exist at once:
robin was struggling. robin was looking to a girl for her self worth, and because she couldnāt find acceptance there, she stopped accepting herself and therefore stopped trying in school and was overall completely depressed. then, robin realized that her self worth doesnāt depend on other people, it depends on herself. she should love herself, and love the fact that sheās a lesbian, and treat herself kindly. that was the point where she truly became āfreeā.
i donāt think that robin is encouraging will to give up on mike ever loving him back and live the rest of his life as a bachelor. robin didnāt do that, sheās very much in love with vickie. i think robin just saw that will, a closeted gay kid in love with his best friend who she does not know for a fact is also queer, was in a very similar place within his own relationship to himself and is encouraging him to accept his queerness and give himself some love. sheās telling him that at the end of the day, other peopleās determination of your worth do not matter so long as you love and accept yourself, thatās when youāre really going to be happy.
sheās not saying āheās never gonna love you back so move onā, she saying āyour never gonna feel truly feel loved unless you love yourselfā
and i think thatās a message that all of us, especially queer people, could stand to listen to
