The dress was made in the same fabric as the Dark Sansa dress, which was the same fabric dyed that was used in Margaery’s wedding dress to Joffrey as Sansa had a bond with her. The gown has a full skirt made from many different panels in the style that Catelyn Stark favors, as well as long narrow sleeves. Over this modest gown, she wears a metal corset featuring a pattern of weirwood branches. Sansa wears an asymmetrical cloak out of respect for her sister. Sansa’s cloak is attached to a neck pad, which gives her a silhouette similar to her late father’s. It is embroidered to give it the fur-like texture on the direwolf sigil and it is lined in rabbit fur, a nod to Sansa’s brothers, who wore this kind of fur when they were young at Winterfell. There is a feathered and embroidered direwolf to represent Lady across her shoulder. The fur-like embroidering travels down the sleeve of the cloak and transforms into Tully fish scales. Beaded and embroidered red leaves inspired by Winterfell’s crimson-leaved weirwood tree fall from one sleeve. Finally she wears the symbolic crown of two direwolf heads supporting each other. The design not only honors her lineage and celebrates her family sigil, but it also serves as a special tribute to Robb, her fallen brother.
