Eugène Boudin (1824–1898) was a French painter from Normandy, best known for his seascapes, beach scenes, and changing skies. He often painted outdoors, particularly in Trouville and along the Normandy coast, seeking to capture variations in light and atmosphere directly. He is remembered above all as a forerunner of Impressionism and as one of the artists who encouraged the young Claude Monet to paint outdoors—an influence that Monet himself later acknowledged.

ENG:
Climb one side of this staircase and someone else can climb the other, and you will never run into each other.
At the center of the Château de Chambord, in the Loire Valley, two spiral staircases wind around a single hollow core, one for going up, one for going down. Small openings cut into the central column let each set of climbers glimpse the other in passing, but the two paths never physically cross.
Construction began in 1519, the same year Leonardo da Vinci died just a few miles away at the Château du Clos Lucé, where he had spent his final years under the patronage of King François I. The château's actual architect was never recorded, and the original plans are long lost, so no one can say for certain who designed the staircase. But the resemblance to helical sketches in Leonardo's own notebooks has convinced many historians that his influence, if not his direct hand, shaped the design.
There is also a popular legend that Louis XIV used the staircase generations later to avoid running into his wife while visiting mistresses upstairs, sending each up a different spiral. It is a good story, though there is little solid evidence to confirm it actually happened
