Thomas next?

I'm honestly surprised and grateful that no one ever tried to take a stab at figuring out what my main account was, other than one anon who was like "I know who you are 😈," and then crickets... Surprised because asskissers love causing harm to real people and it would be a wasted opportunity, and grateful because if anyone made the wrong accusation, someone who isn't me would likely be harassed, since I would have no way to prove it's not me.

I’ve known about the Brei Grace situation for a little bit now, and it’s definitely made me take a “separate art from the artist” angle to my recent SaSi interest revival, but looking through this blog, I’m devastated that it’s even worse than I thought.

The series is one that has brought me so much joy, both back in 2018, 2020, and now 2025. I absolutely adore Patton, he’s been a MASSIVE comfort character for me, and I’ve even made my own Sides OCs that mean the world to me. But now I just feel… depressed. Not angry just, depressed and devastated.

It’s not your fault ofc, it’s ultimately his. If he didn’t let us down, we wouldn’t be in this mess.

Part of me still wishes I hadn’t learned, but it still would’ve been true even if I hadn’t. So in that way, from my own experience, I think I know why so many people are so quick to blindly defend him:

It’s because they don’t want it to be true. They want him to be the person they see him as, the person he presents himself as, because the alternative would devastate them. I kinda sympathize bc I’ve been in the same position, but that’s not an excuse to harass people who are critical of him.

I had actually initially left the fandom bc of the Mad Libs situation, and somehow got informed that it had been resolved? Which seems to not be entirely true as evidenced by this blog.

Either way, I had been hoping that maybe he could still turn himself around, but that hope has now dwindled to being barely there.

I just wish things turned out differently.

If I were Thomas, I would be disappointed in myself. He pretty much had it all laid out for him. He was popular on Vine and not just in a niche way. He could have built a global platform easily. It would have been stressful, but he could have done it and probably been up there with Markiplier if he played his cards right.

Brei is being freelanced to do the thumbnails. Basically, she has to do all the same work as before, but now with no protection and benefits compared to when she was an employee.

Also, side question, I love how Janus noticed Logan's eyes going orange. I can't wait to see how the orange side side-story is going to progress. :]

Of course it’s possible the math was wrong I don’t think anyone ever checked and it’s possible they were dating before he turned 18. Plus I don’t know if the exact age gap even matter that much in this situation, there’s still a weird maturity gap there.

The conflict between Virgil and Janus agreeing was way more toned down than how it was framed in the Writers Room. Honestly, that’s probably for the best. There are so many dynamics that still need room to breathe, and hyper-focusing on that specific tension wouldn’t really serve the non-existent finale. That kind of relationship/character development feels better suited for Aside episodes anyway.

Thomas did this weird confirm–unconfirm thing about whether the Sides existed prior to SaSi. Logan calls them a concept portrayed the way they are so the audience can understand them, which implies there couldn’t really be a backstory to the extent a lot of fans imagine. But then Past!Logan decides to start using note cards, which is very much a character choice. That’s where it gets confusing. Maybe it was meant to show Thomas choosing to track modern slang, but he already used the word with Roman, so he clearly knew what it meant. It feels like an attempt to avoid a retcon, but if he can poke fun at everything else (the release schedule, young Thomas not literally being him, etc.), he probably should’ve just taken the L and retconned it. A cleaner explanation would’ve been saying that Thomas was always interacting with the Sides, but in a more abstract or imaginary-friend way, so they didn’t serve the same function they do now.

That said, I do give him props for simplifying the plot and lowering expectations. This approach basically eliminates the need to explore fan concepts like King Creativity. They were just concepts, not the Sides as we know them.

Janus’s characterization is fire. The makeup is still ass.

Logan’s solution is extremely in-character, but in a very pre-character-development way. I like it in the sense that it reinforces him as the embodiment of logic again rather than his own person, but it also feels like it walks back a lot of the progress he made with considering Roman and Patton’s feelings. It reads like he’s retreating into facts because they feel safer than emotions. Or maybe I'm bean soup-ing it and he did take their feelings into account and just didn’t feel the need to spell that out because, from his perspective, his plan was simply the most logical.

Speaking of Logan, his comment about not understanding why the Doctor brings companions sucked. That’s something that is discussed and explained multiple times, so I’m glad Roman called it out.

I know about the spiderman stuff but thats about it.
