READ THIS IF YOU ARE STRESSED : One topic that I haven’t talked about as I should is the stress period I was facing when I was living in Budapest in 2020, when Corona virus hit, Caesar act was placed on Syrians so no one was hiring Syrians, it was almost impossible to convert my student visa to a work visa to stay in Hungary. I had to fund my graduation short film on my own after I was let go of my job in Budapest because of the pandemic. Not only a long white strand grew on my head within a week, but I also received a deportation letter shortly from the Hungarian government because they have mixed up my visa application and due to misunderstanding of them not being fluent in English. Why I am writing this? Because there are some funny things that I have done that managed this stress a bit better.. I will share them below, maybe they will help someone : 1- Listening to slowed down songs: I felt my brain was running so fast because of the stress and overthinking process, I had to calm myself down. Classical music didn’t really work because I needed to track lyrics and sing with it to soothe myself. I found this weird channel that slowed down Lana Del Rey’s songs. Here’s the link to my favorite one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q1lKhXjQ-II 2- Yogurt: Eating some Greek Yogurt clamed me down before I slept and I ended up feeling better, I am not sure this would work for everyone though. 3- Calling dear ones: Just connecting with my friends and knowing that I am not alone was a beautiful assurance for me to shift my perspective.
