so this is sana and shee is basically chill as fuck lmao she knows how to roll with the punches and quick on her feet.

her mom and dad married quite young ( her mom was nineteen and her dad was twenty-three ). they’d met quite ‘teen romance novel’-ish and just as quickly had sana -- though neither was ready for her ( or marriage ) as much as they thought they were.

her mother was immature and felt tied down once her freedom was given up. which led to her acting out and being less than faithful to her dad. -- not that he was any better -- but it was her mother who would end up taking the blame for their divorce only six years later.

though one of the reasons he’d left was that he didn’t agree with the way she raised sana, he was content leaving her behind and sana was content to stay with her mom.

after the divorce, sana and her mom moved from london to mumbai with her grandparents for several more years. until amir came into her life: a very kind primary school professor who sana had latched onto in the beginning of her 8th year whom would ultimately fall in love with her mother and marry her. ( they moved to dubai as soon as he was offered the headmaster position. )

-enters stepdad amir- LOL He’s the headmaster of Maladh. he’s fair understanding and kind. and the only man that sana will ever call her dad. he does spoil her quite a bit even in school, as she’s gotten arguably the best dorm out of them all due to her pleading.

 she’s very bright and energetic. she’s very easy to talk to and often very outspoken. she doesnt tolerate bullying and wouldn’t hesitate to swing a fist or fling a hex if she has to.

while she IS friendly, she kind of keeps away from close relationships mostly just because she doesnt want to cause them pain or be caused pain but every now and then a sly one gets through – and when that happens she’s so loyal and gives complete unconditional love.

she has a thing for memorizing books, languages, streets, bus routes, you name it. and her most favorite place in the palms is the ‘mood-ring’ library.

her step father is the current headmaster to Maladh. while he is her step father she thinks of him as her only just because the other had abandoned her and her mother once he’d found out that she was sick.

at the age of nine, sana was diagnosed with the muggle disease nxemann-pick type c. being diagnosed later in life and having a witch’s biochemistry, the disease has a more insidious onset and slower progression. with magical medical technology, the progression is slowed even further. while the potions and spells help to lessen the frequency of them, it doesn’t completely get rid of the symptoms. ( seizures, memory loss, coordination and movement problems. )

to combat outside of the medicine, she took to memorizing everything. bus routes, subway lines, spells, dictionaries, pretty much anything that she could test herself and know if her memory is deteriorating. 

sana refuses to let anyone know, even if she is experiencing those symptoms, and is more likely to deal with it all herself than willingly reach out for help.
