Okay so, much like tiktok, the search tab has been entirely consumed by what is now the video/livestream tab (fuckin ew). Can’t tell if this’ll turn out like the group chat feature and have so few people use it that it gets deleted, or if it’ll be the Blaze feature where we all abuse the fuck out of it for laughs while inadvertently making them money and driving efforts in the wrong direction- effectively making the app worse despite taking the piss out of it.

They’re trying to compete harder and earn more money, and it’s becoming less and less recognizable so like. Yeah, I’m a lil worried abt Tumblr man.

sometimes i feel like making a side-blog/twt account for the latest series im hyperfixating on but time and time again i find that people who make up the online fandom are some of the most unpleasant, contemptuous, and mean people you can find. like i don’t understand spending so much time being so hateful towards the piece of media you spend 14 hours a day tweeting/blogging about.

I truly don’t think people realize how dingy and dark most movies and tv shows actually are so they can’t appreciate the work and skill it takes to make gifs look the way your brain “remembers” it looking.

Another before and after example:

This gif needed 6 different adjustment layers, not including the sharpening process, which is its own separate challenge. The blue window was also changed to green to keep the palette more consistent and to reduce the range of colors needed, because a wider range of colors generally results in worse gif quality since gifs only support a max of 256 (compared to the millions your monitor can display).
