Listen, hear me out. So, when Chirrut meets Jyn for the first time on Jedha, he mentions turning in her necklace for a fortune. Then immediately afterwards he says, “the strongest stars have hearts of kyber.” Jyn has a necklace of a kyber crystal that lies on her chest. Jyn’s character is so strong and willing. She almost dies multiple times and ultimately has the guts to go to the council and tell them the entire rebel fleet should be on that beach. She knows without the plans, the rebellion is over. K2SO even says her behavior is surprising. On top of that, her nickname from her father is Stardust. Galen says he does everything to protect her. He places the plans of the Death Star under Stardust, knowing that she will be the one to discover it and know that’s the file. He rigged the reactor for her, to protect her. The Death Star brings destruction wherever it goes and every single one of Jyn’s rebellion friends die. Everyone. Jyn gets the plans and transmits them to the entire universe, to anyone who is listening. She’s the trap. She’s the rig. She’s the trigger that foils the entire Death Star. Not to mention, she literally turns to Stardust to protect the rebellion and to save the entire galaxy. She welcomes death. I am wholeheartedly convinced these aren’t coincidences. Jyn’s character is symbolism for the Death Star.
