âGive me some peace of mind,â he began, turning to the other. âWhen you go on a first date, does a personâs feet ever matter to you in the bedroom? I mean⌠you know, regarding what they look like and all. Itâs not just me, right?â
âTheir feet? What? What way are you talking about? Like the foot fetish way or? Because for me, thatâs not a thing man.âÂ
sadie-harrow:
âReally?â she asked, unable to hide the excited hopefulness on her face. âI mean, Iâd prefer to never have to call a guy, so Iâd love the help!âÂ
âWell thatâs a little bit hurtful. I make my living off of people needing to call a guy.â Scott joked. âBut I get it. I never want to have to call a handyman or anything like that either, even though I am one.... letâs see what youâve got going on here.â
sadie-harrow:
âYou know how to put up Christmas lights?â Sadie asked with a huffing breath, various strings of tangled up lights nested around her. âI always thought it was sacrilege to hire those professional guys to do it for you, but Iâm seriously reconsideringâŚâÂ
âSacrilege is a very strong word, but yeah. Iâve hung my fair share of Christmas lights.â Sam nodded. âIâd be happy to help. Unless you wanna call a guy.â
clarissawilson:
âIâm sorry, were you saying something?â Clarissa asked, rubbing sleep from her eyes. She was in a cafe and for some reason the coffee she ordered has yet to arrived.
âI was just saying your uh, tag is kind of sticking out a bit, from the back of your blouse, you know.â Sam cleared his throat.

The thanksgiving rush was real that morning, and Daniel cursed himself for deciding to come out and pick up a few things. His eyes washed over the groups of people queuing up and almost felt a sense of homesickness. He despised his family for most of the year, but at times like this when he felt the dynamic and togetherness he felt as if he was missing out on something. Shaking the thoughts from his mind, he continued down the line, finally making it to the register and beginning to pile up his groceries when he noticed someone doing the same. âExcuse me, Iâm pretty sure I was next.â He pointed out, trying to keep his tone friendly, despite being quite irritated with all this chaos.
âOh shit, Iâm sorry man. Itâs nuts in here. Wh woulda known, huh? Just trying to get some fuckinâ bananas and beer and cereal.â Sam moved back behind the guy. âMy bad.â
laurel-lannister:
It was close to a year now, a year since he had been gone, but everything still seemed to remind her of him, especially winter season. This time last year she had lost her brother when he had fallen to his death and laurel feeling guilty more now than ever that she was the only one there to witness it. the necklace around her neck with a dog paw, maverickâs name in the centre of it keeping him always with her. There had been some days better than others, most days she didnât wish to get out of bed, other days she had completely forgotten and it wasnât until she was at home by herself late at night when she had felt guilty that she had been happy that entire day.
It was the distraction she needed to happen; she had been seeing a therapist who had suggested that she should go to the gym to ease her thoughts at night. There she was excursing, doing sit-ups as she had breathed in and out slowly, ââŚ5â she breathed out counting each sit up, and each one had become more boring than the other., âand 100â she said sitting up, as she took a drink of her water, giving up.Â
âIâm sorry this is totally uncalled for, but... did you just jump from 5 to 100?â Sam asked, very amused by the girl heâd been casually observing. He was a pretty ritual gym goer and in the last month heâd been in sterling he hadnât seen her before.

Aliceâs favourite place in the entirety of the town was the art gallery, she would literally spend hours there every day. Trying to memorise all the pieces on the wall so that when she visited next sheâd actually remember what was new and what wasnât. The piece she was currently looking at had colours swirling in all directions, it looked like an angry explosion of colour. She cocked her head to the side as she followed one of the streams of colour with her eyes. ââI canât decided if this is a happy painting or a sad painting, it could easily be both? The colour could be an ecstatic explosion or an murderous rage..ââ she mused out loud.Â
Sam took a second to register the girl was talking. He was there to fix something or other for the gallery owner and could seem to find them. âIâm sorry are you talking to me?â

âThanksgiving? Oh, no. Iâm not doing anything. Just having a beer and watching football.â Sam held up his recently procured beverage and box of captain crunch. âIâm very thankful for captain crunch.â
junenixon:
ânoâŚÂ no!â june whimpered in frustration, heels clicking on asphalt as she stood in the spot where her car was was supposed to be. this wasnât forgetfulness, either. this wasnât a goddamn tow truck. smashed glass left on the sidewalk painted a very clear picture: someone had stolen her fucking car. âfuck, shit!â the blonde growled, a pit of despair settling in her stomach as the realisation hit her. âmother fucker.â she had settled to a whisper now, hands beginning to shake from the shock of it all. june dropped to sit on the curb - shards of glass be damned - with frustrated tears brimming by her lashes. this was bad. it wasnât like she could call the police. the car wasnât even registered to her name. her name wasnât even her real name. no insurance, no nothing. sheâd saved up for months to get that piece of shit (and it was a piece of shit, no doubt), and now it was gone. â poof.Â
Sam had been completely minding his own business, far beyond done spending the night out and about to attempt to look ânormalâ. He had been in town a month and her needed to get to know some people or heâd sit in his house and stuff himself with Captain Crunch and bananas. He was fishing around for his car keys when he noticed the girl sitting on the curb looking like she may or may not have been crying. âUh... hey, are you alright? Do you need help getting home? I can give you a ride.â

She had lost count of the days spent away, more than four months and less than seven. Half of the year had been wasted away in another town and coming back she felt more out of place than ever before. There was a note taped to her door when she got in, an address scrawled across in messy ink. She still wasnât 100% sure sheâd read the address correctly but that didnât stop her from knocking on the door. Moments later she heard movement on the other side before the door finally swung open.Â
âI was told you have some of our mail?â She asked holding out the stained piece of paper.Â
Sam had finally gotten used to Frostford. After being relocated from Chicago nearly a year ago, he'd felt incredibly out of place. Having to pretend he was some one else didn't help, of course. Now though, he replied to the name Sam so easily, he wondered if anyone were to shout Scott Damiani at the top of his lungs if he'd even turn his head. The other thing he'd gotten used to was having Mini for a next door neighbor. Then she left, and he got used to her not being there. Every time he picked up her mail, he wondered if she'd ever come back. When he opened his front door in just a towel, tooth brush handing out of his mouth, the last thing he'd expected was that this was the first time he'd see her again. "Holy shit." Was all he managed.
