i had too much fun with this one! a double drabble with some surprise guests ;)

Mary came for tea today. I regaled her with stories of Stonecrop while showing off my spoils. The four butterflies, mounted by my own hands, and framed, courtesy of Islington, were reminiscent of jewels. Mary said as much, commenting on the way their wings glittered as they caught the light. I knew she was avoiding the issue of her Professor for how resolutely she refused to even broach the topic, pursing her lips when I mentioned his book. I suggested we take a turn about St. Crispian's as a distraction, the July afternoon proving unseasonably cool, and thus suitable for walking. Mary agreed. Our walk was largely uneventful, that is, until we reached the end of the Diagonal. There, spilling out of the Cleopatra, and considerably inebriated for the time of day, were the Reprobates Ten! Spotting me on the other side of the street, they began a rousing chorus of a song I have come to know quite well, if not also by accident. “Emma,” Mary began, turning to me with a grin I had not seen since our Fortitude days, “Is that drinking song about you?” “Yes, yes it is.”  I shall have to teach it to her.

How have you been?

I'm suffering through exams (contracts and work law will be the death of me), but I see the light, those are my two last exams this semester🩷🩷

I’m so fucking eepy I just got rudely awoken by maintenance because they had to do like. Unit inspection or some shit. Literally all they had to do was take a picture of my kitchen and bathroom. And the dude was like “do you work nights?” (Because it’s almost 1pm and I was still asleep) and I said “no, I’m just chronically ill.” 💀💀
