To S+W readers, I bet yall would enjoy Kcho's The Winter Campaign comic over on Tapas. Like S+W it's a long one with a strong emphasis on mystery and place (1919 Japan) and interpersonal mechanics (I've said "oh shiiiit" out loud while reading). It's cool to see such a compelling mystery set in a historical setting that also tackles queer topics.

I find the concept of "deserving" SO ODD. Every so often I get them in the comments like "Roman deserves someone better than Luca" or "Luca doesn't deserve these bad things happening to him" and it's just baffling. Idk if these readers just grew up more Catholic than me, but "deserving" never comes into my mind. Even in real life, I don't see a bad thing happen to a good person and think it's tragic because they didn't deserve it; it's tragic because a bad thing happened to someone. How does this imaginary concept of "deserving" come into play at all?

I wonder if these people see bad things happening in real life and try to convince themselves the people they're happening to are bad people. Trying to spin events as just or not isn't a concept I can wrap my head around. Maybe it's lazy thinking. "If I decide someone deserved this bad thing happening to them, I don't need to consider what events led to it. If I know what events led to it, I might be compelled to do work to prevent it from happening again. That might be hard."

Roman enjoys Luca's company and Luca suffers from the consequences of his actions (and he would make half those actions again because the results are still worth it lol). It's just that simple.

Recently someone was like "it's obvious you have a bias towards Roman". Like ??? Luca is The Main Character. He's my bug in a jar I want to see react to things. I have no interest in spending years drawing a story about some guy having only nice things happen to him because he's perfect. AND if you think Roman is perfect, you need something stronger than the chatgpt therapy you must be getting, because that dude keeps hurting himself with his worldview, too.

A comic I'm not gonna do anything with because I kinda started w the idea and then uhhhhhh literally forgot what it was about. THAT'S WHY U WRITE THINGS DOWN.....at least if you thought up the idea a few beers in. lol I just realized he switched hands from panel 1 to 2. ANYWAY this style is pretty fast so I'm trying to do more short comics this way so I can get some finally finished, even if the inking is sacrificed.

Instead of working on next week's actual episode, I'm brainstorming on the S+W universe weeee.

It hasn't been mentioned since like chapter 3, but there aren't just human world, beast world, and demon land.

S+W deals entirely with Beasts and Demons, so the other 3 don't get much mention. I just wanted to make a universe that I could put pretty much any story I wanted to tell into. I'm not good at mysteries, but I'd really like to read a murder mystery that involves The Preceding and Dreams :')
