Sam Evans

Every thought snapped to a halt when the hand landed on his knee and he inhaled sharply. Dave looked up meeting Sam’s blue eyes, he slowly leaned in. His face barely inches away from Sam’s before hesitating and closing his eyes “I-I should go…I can’t make another mistake.” He said quietly, though he never moved. He stayed close to Sam.

The boy's cheek felt warm as Dave inched himself just a little bit closer. Was this actually happening right now? His eyes trailed from his lips to his big soulful eyes. He could feel the good inside of the other and knew that he wasn't the big bad wolf everyone thought. "What do you mean Dave.. you've done nothing unwanted.." he cooed softly to him.

Sam shifted down the bench so that he could sit down as well. He felt a weird flutter in his stomach when Dave continued to offer help to him. “Yeah, I don’t think I can get a good angle,” he admitted and kept his sweatshirt hiked up his body. “How does it look Dave?” He questioned softly. He didn’t know how much time had passed but he would eventually need to check in at home.

Watching Dave sit down, he took a deep breath and braced himself for the ice pack to touch his hot and bruised rib cage. He never noticed how soft but masculine Dave’s features were. Granted, the teen never had the chance to be so close to him. He eyes slowly grazing over the male. Taking in all of his features and feeling his stomach flutter even more.

Dave hesitated for a moment as hes sat next to Sam, his hand shaking slightly as he brought it up to run along Sam’s ribs very gently, keeping distance from the bruise “it’s not pretty, but it’s not the worst.” he didn’t really know how to answer it because to be honest he was distracted with the bit of Sam’s body he could see. 

Sam’s eyes fluttered open as Dave began to talk to him again. That’s right, he was in the locker room when he was supposed to be home. “I think maybe just rest.. or maybe an ice pack.. please..?” He asked looking up to him. The blonde bit his lower lip as he watched the other jock leave to go get something for him. The locker room always made Sam feel a little.. out of place.

Once he was sure he was alone, he lifted up the side of his sweatshirt and looked at his ribcage. There was a deep purple mark surrounded by redder marks. Sam sighed softly as he grazed his fingers over it. The sweatshirt was about half way up his body as he looked at his distorted body. “Oh- Dave!” He blurted out, not seeing the guy standing there. Sam tried to adjust his sweater and sit up straight so that his stomach wasn’t showing as much, and just the bruise was. “T-thanks” he stuttered, his cheeks turned bright red and he could feel them getting warmer.

Dave just gave a nod “I’ll see what I can find. Gimmie a minute and I’ll be back.” he promised. Dave left Sam, going into the coaches office and started looking for where anything he needed could be. After finding an ice pack he headed back to Same. Sure he had taken side ways glances at Sam before, but this was different. Seeing Sam in this way took more than he realized to keep normal. 

Getting the blonde into the locker room, Dave helped him sit down on a bench. Once he was seated Dave stepped back “Do you need me to get the first aid kit from coaches office or do you just need to rest?”

Sam's eyes fluttered open as Dave began to talk to him again. That's right, he was in the locker room when he was supposed to be home. "I think maybe just rest.. or maybe an ice pack.. please..?" He asked looking up to him. The blonde bit his lower lip as he watched the other jock leave to go get something for him. The locker room always made Sam feel a little.. out of place.

“How about the locker room, it’s close by and we can sit there for a moment. He wrapped an arm around Sam’s waist trying not to think about how close he was to the slender male. About how perfectly Sam seemed to fit in his arm. Giving himself a mental shake he helped Same to the locker room.

Taking the phone from Dave, he slid it into the pocket of his sweat pants and let him help. Sam glanced up at the taller brunette as he wrapped his arm around him for support. He draped his arm over his shoulder and began to walk with him. The other jock was always attractive to Sam, but it always seemed so inappropriate to think about giving the circumstances. "Yeah, that's works. Thanks again Dave," he said with a soft smile.

Dave gave an awkward chuckle “Yeah, I guess I have and that time I was trying.” he hummed before watching Sam stumble slightly against the locker. He looked around “Do..do you want to go sit down? You look like you need to.” To be honest Dave did want to make a change, but fearing the retaliation of what people will think or say isn’t something he’s ready for.

Sam let out a soft chuckle and shook his head slightly. “Okay, I think we can agree it was just an accident,” he said lightly. He still couldn’t believe that this was the guy that had gotten into it with Kurt and made him transfer. Maybe people could change, maybe not entirely but Dave was definitely not the same guy he used to be, right?

He could tell Sam had gotten hurt by this “Look I don’t want trouble Sam, Here are your books and shit.” He handed over the stuff that belonged to the blonde “Just…just do me a favor and don’t tell people I did that to you. That’s the last thing I need right now.” He mumbled rubbing the back of his neck a tad nervously “are…are you okay?”

Sam knew he had fallen pretty hard to hurt himself but not to make him go crazy and hear things. Dave seemed like he was actually concerned and afraid of the wrong thing getting out? “N-no, it was my fault Dave, really..” Standing up slow, he tried to keep his balance while also trying to figure out what was happening. “..you didn’t do anything to me, okay?” he said trying to reassure the brunette. Sam felt like he was in a dream and it couldn’t believe this was the infamous Dave Karofsky in front of him.

With the holiday coming up and a small break from school here Dave was looking forward to his time away from school. A break from everything going on, having some last minute stuff to do by the he left the campus was empty for the most part. A sporadic teacher here or there but nothing else. So when he collided with none other than Sam evens in the hallway he was floored. The last thing he wanted was trouble. He wasn’t sure what to say and with a glance around making sure no one was watching he sighed “it’s fine.” He mumbled bending down to gather up some of Sam’s stuff.

Sam wanted nothing more then to just go home and hang out with his two younger siblings. The break was short for Thanksgiving but he would give anything to spend any sort of time to be with them. Another great thing was the amount of video games he could play and all the comics he could read. “I-I’m really Dave..” the boys voice was a bit trembly. He knew Dave hadn’t given much people trouble after the Kurt incident but now he gave him a reason to be upset.
