sometimes the hard part is just getting started

I live in an island of liberal thought in a conservative state in a seemingly conservative country which is unrelated to how I live and interact with my peers in any way but for me subtly opening the topic from a personal, relatable place.

Meanwhile, in the wilds of the Middle West.

In a world where accountability is waiveable, returning to the scene doesn't involve consideration of criminality or even wrongdoing. It's a kind of freedom, a type perhaps of liberation to not be beholden to guidelines civil society holds dear.

There are risks you slide into with thrill as the accelerator and fear as the breaks not realizing you're sliding already until you apply the breaks. And then there's the hurtling though space at an immeasurable, spinning rate, you couldn't fathom if you tried.

It's easy.

The rate at which things are destroyed can be like freeway speed. When the destruction stops the sensation can be like slowing to drive in town, seemingly at a crawl, but somehow still dangerously fast.
