If I had read the books before watching the show, I would have been CERTAIN that the stupid snow globe Stefan apparently got Caroline for secret santa would turn out to be a star ball or whatever they trapped Elena and Damon in in Nightfall. Because why else would the writers introduce such a stupid little thing. It's a snow globe of mystic falls. It would've been so DOPE if it was like a prison world or something, an alternate realm, somewhere that was mystic falls but wrong.
