Fucked up that they keep giving Stefan new mental illnesses and then taking them away. They should let them compound. He's an addict. He got amnesia. He's got PTSD (with flashbacks and panic attacks). He has psychosis (auditory and visual hallucinations). These are all canon, but they never seem to be canon at the same time. Let him suffer complexly ✨

I just got to the amnesia plot and THE most frustrating part is that i know the drowning PTSD will not be treated as seriously as it could be.

Amnesia Stefan walking away from Delena bcs " i don't like you and you lied to me" is the closest thing to self care he's done on screen. And i think there could be some really interesting conflict if he didn't WANT to get his memories back bcs of all the trauma and what that entails.

But also, by the treatment of the chatacters so far, i know that trauma isn't fully explored outside of what it does to the love stories

#stefan is treated by the show as the dart board to throw pain and torture at #yet the show doesn't seem interested in providing support for the aftermath #< prev tags exactly!!!!!!#and yeah no spoilers but the PTSD plot line is not what it could be

I can't believe that Esther killed Jenna :( if she hadn't decided to fuck a man who wasn't her husband then none of this would ever happen :( also she killed Hayley because Greta Sienna wouldn't be alive if vampires weren't real :( why are you laughing? this is serious business. this woman has a kill count in the hundreds of millions. I can't believe she made Isobel keep sex slaves.
