At least he apologized. “It’s--” Don’t bite his head off, Gali. “--Fine. So what brings you here? Passing through?” Her tone struggled to remain amiable, but she managed. “It’s a nice pit stop between Francis and Toni.”

An interest of his? Lovi never mentioned anyone like this... Just who was this guy?! “Well, nothing more than the usual! Mission accomplished!” Please leave the nation quickly. “It was nice meeting you, Luciano, but I have shopping to do.” Something about his was setting off a vibe she didn’t like one bit.

“I could have gone my entire life without knowing details about Antonio’s dick. I guess I’ll vote for deletion.”

With little hesitation she shook his hand and ignored the off feeling he was giving her. “Great! Then was there something you needed?” She was just trying to get groceries. “Or do you just stop most girls on the street?”

“Galiana... Er, who are you?” Another tourist, probably. Best not to upset him. “Do you need directions?”

“Of course I’m kidding! As if I’d be in a relationship with a sea creature... I live in the mountains for goodness’ sake. We’d never see each other! But I can’t exactly walk up to anyone and be like ‘Hey. I want to watch movies in my underwear and be held.’ That’s not polite conversation or something.”

“Because I’ll fight, but it doesn’t make me any bigger or important to anybody.” She murmured to herself, hidden behind her glass as she averted her gaze. It was how things always were. She was a pebble in the way and the smallest of the group until Francis came and made his demands. Gave them armies and men and used them. Despite that, she never hated him. As far as Galiana knew then, he was helping her. He was just as much her brother as the others in the Marca Hispanica. Ah, but what was she doing? She hadn’t come to reminisce about those times! Instead of wording any of that, a soft sigh came from her and she slouched in her seat. “Let’s talk about something else. What do you think you’ll be doing for the holidays?”

“Science can do wonderful things, Tolys! I bet there’s some back-alley surgery in somewhere shady that could figure something out. If that’s how I’ll get someone to give me affection, I’ll try it.”

“No, he said that if I was going to look for a decent guy, I should go north, east, or west. But west is the ocean, and that’s where I’ll find him. It’s like... Reverse little mermaid! Or her. You know, I’m open to any gender of aquatic mammal.”

“Noooo...” That was super convincing. She really just needed a snack before catching a flight, but that would sound rude. “I wanted to try and see what foods you like to keep around! For... When you come to visit! You should invest in a dairy cow.”
