Girls Like Complaining Like Boys Do

i obviously hate cishet transphobes but i absolutely fucking despise transphobic lgb people. like you have to be a special kind of brain dead monster to go through bigotry and the fear of death and violence and then turn around and do the same to others. the same with racist lgbt people. trans people of color BUILT this community and you fucking demons have the fucking nerve to bask in what they did for you while spitting in their faces

I know a lot of lesbians that used to identify as bi who worried that coming out as a lesbian would contribute to invalidating bisexuality in some way, by making it seem like a “stepping stone” to coming out as gay. I’ve also known bi women who identified as lesbians and changed their labels later, and worried that they were contributing to some kind of idea about how men can ~turn lesbians. I just wanted to say that it’s no individual lesbian or bi women’s responsibility to fix straight people’s perceptions of us. Like, it’s not your duty to serve as a political symbol! It’s your duty to find happiness even if that means changing ur label at some points.

Part of me is like “I want a strong woman to hold me and take care of me” and another part of me is like “I want to be a strong woman and hold and take care of a girl” and the great thing about lesbianism is that I can have both

after realising you’re gay it’s truly a never ending series of “oh i used to do/feel that because i’m gay”. it really never ends

me as a 12 year old: yeah, women are just objectively more beautiful. like its just true. women are always more attractive than men, thems the facs. it is nature, god’s will, if you may. i am heterosexual.

i dont care if theres a genetic basis for being gay. i dont care if trans people’s brains resemble their gender. i don’t care. can we please stop focusing on answering why people arent cishet and more on how to actually stop homophobia and transphobia? because going out of our way to show that trans and gay people are weird variants on “normal” cishets isn’t helping.

So I just heard about “Primed: The Back Pocket Guide for Trans Men and the Men Who Dig Them.” It’s the first sexual health resource written by and for gay, bi and queer trans men/ transmasculine people, put out by Rainbow Health Ontario, and it’s a very frank guide that answers basically any questions you might have about safer sex. They’ve released it for free download here.

A similar guide geared towards trans women/ transfeminine people (though not really sexual orientation specific) is “BRAZEN: Trans Women’s Safer Sex Guide.”
