Help I dove straight into a new hyperfixation and this one has a strong pull... Yes this is me hard launching my new hyperfixation
So if anyone wants to talk to me about 19th and 18th century fashion and general day to day life I'd love to hear anything and everything about it. Otherwise I'm uninterested.
Shoo! You and your modern repressive contraptions (bras)! Bring the historically accurate stays and corsets back in style! Liberate our horrible modern beauty standards! Give me those cute Jane Austen dresses where the waist is right under the boobs or one of those 1880s bustles! I want to understand what a mantua is! I want that interesting fashion back (please)
I am so serious about it, I consumed an unholy amount of information in the last week and I now desperately want to visit the Victoria & Albert Museum as well as Colonial Williamsburg (never went to either of those) you have no idea how much it interests me
Dustin Hoffman and Robin Williams - Hook (1991)
@mslovelyrita just saying
Is that the guy from STRAIGHT TIME???
IT MAY BE THE GUY FROM STRAIGHT TIME
Remind me again who stars in it..??

I discovered the wonderful creation that is the podcast Sherlock & Co. It is amazing, the Sherlock depiction is very enjoyable, and the Watson depiction is very books accurate, from what I could gather so far (I'm reading by publication order, I finished the Adventures). I really enjoy this take of a modern setting, different enough from BBC Sherlock, but also exactly the vibe I've been missing.
I also discovered that the format of a podcast is hard for me to listen to since it is way too understimulating for me, and I can only do it while doing other understimulating activities, and I already finished folding all my laundry, so now what do I do?? Do I wash the dishes now? Do I go buy groceries? Why is this new obsession making me productive?? What has happened to me, it's just a Sherlock Holmes podcast holy shit
(I'm really tempted to just hop in the car and drive around my village just to be able to concentrate on the podcast)
This fucking podcast has no right being so funny

is the narnia fandom still alive
Shit I need to get back to the Silver Chair, sorry my child, I neglected youuu (no one spoil it for me, it's my first read through I'm doing release order)
I do love the classic autism coded Sherlock, you can't go wrong with that, but I want for once to travel a bit on the neurodiversity scale. Please someone give me a severely ADHD Sherlock who can only solve whatever case he's on about if he also simultaneously listens to classic music on full blast while also doing a sudoku while also sitting upside down on his armchair (yes this is me this is how I think). Give me a Sherlock who will lock himself in a lab for hours researching god knows what and not responding to any stimuli from the outside world, only to be distracted by catching a couple arguing on the street through the window, and getting so invested in lip-reading the argument that he completely abandons his hours of work.
I think ADHD Sherlock Holmes would be very entertaining please someone get on that. I'm sure Sir Arthur Conan Doyle wouldn't care.
(hmmm I guess Steven Moffat kinda did this, obviously not in BBC's Sherlock, but in Doctor Who. ADHD Sherlock is just the Doctor when he's in a mood)
Honestly acd sherlock IS INDEED LIKE THAT
Yessss! I was so glad to discover this bit by bit!!!
I'm almost done with the first bundle (The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes, I think?) and each scene we get to learn more that he IS INDEED LIKE THAT, and I love it!!
And in Sign of Four that's pretty much exactly what happens, it's just Sherlock obsessing over that one thing he can't figure out, be so enthralled in it that Mrs Hudson actually raises her concerns with Watson, and then returning to his chatty good mood when he solves it, which is basically word vomiting about all the things he knows that interest him and taking over an entire dinner. (This is so me btw, I do that and my mom hates it)
He can't function without some stimulus, wether it is a case, a puzzle, or straight up injecting himself. That many plays violin while he thinks. Like he actually composes while he thinks, it's one of the first things Watson notes about him in Study in Scarlet, which I think was the detail that made me write that original post. How crazy is that?? But also, I can not drive without my music on full volume and all the windows open (I open them on the highway I'm not a complete asshole, okay, I just like the wind) and I can't listen to a podcast/audiobook without doing something with my hands (I know that because I made friendship bracelets throughout listening to all The Adventures...)
Anyway, yeah, acd sherlock IS INDEED LIKE THAT but is it weird that I think he is also a little bit me...?
Also that's me announcing that I'm officially obsessed and I will finish all of these books.
October 7th was a wake up call for me when I realized that the left genuinely did not give a single shit about Jews but it still baffles me the sheer amount of gaslighting and entitlement that they exude that they expect us to believe they aren’t the same as the Nazi pieces of shit who spout the same shit they do on the other side of the political spectrum just without the woke language. Defending or denying the terror attack committed on a synagogue in Michigan, calling the terror attack in Bondi a false flag, simping for a regime that systematically murdered tens of thousands of their own people in just two fucking days. And this is just the shit I’ve seen in the past few months. That’s not even talking about how they have reacted about how the hostages were treated because I will never be able to articulate the rage and betrayal I have felt these past 2.5 years.
And they still have the audacity to self righteously post on their blogs about how cool and leftist they are, about how they would punch a Nazi, about how it’s so important to believe women (unless you’re a Jew or Israeli). And as a liberal Jew, I just feel so much disgust and resentment towards the sheer entitlement of these people. They will spew the same vile rhetoric that groypers and their ilk have, just wrapped up in progressive speak. And their reaction to getting called out for it almost always “how DARE you call ME, a LEFTIST, an ANTISEMITE? Don’t you know that leftists by definition are the righteous saviors of the oppressed?!”
And deep down, I know these people hate Palestinians just as much as they hate Jews. Because instead of focusing on the very real human rights abuses going on in Gaza, they use Palestinian suffering as a bludgeoning tool against Jews - not just those within Israel but those in the diaspora. They vehemently defend and woobify the monsters who not only have stated time and time again that their goal is to genocide Jews, but violently oppress the people these leftists claim to support.
I hate these people more than I hate Nick Fuentes, Candace Owens, and their ilk. Because at least the groypers are honest about wanting us dead. These kinds of leftists will spout the same bullshit but then have the audacity to act all morally superior to our faces.
Now presenting:
Sherlock Holmes: The Sign of the Four
(But it's only the funny/cool bits I screenshot and sent to my bestie)
Am I reading this on a super pirated pdf? Sue me. The dude is long dead ok?
I didn't have the patience to crop these sorry
Is it concerning that for most of those the message attached was "hahaha Sherlock is so me-coded!"? Can it be that sir arthur conan doyle is diagnosing me with autism? (Haha joke's on him my parents took me to get checked when I was 8 and I failed the test haha) Anyways

Okay I watched Young Sherlock.
I'm obsessed.
Way to brush up on my Sherlock obsession lol.
Moriarty's accent is immaculate and the actor is amazing, but also if you squint he kinda looks like a smushed up Will Schuster in the best way possible.
Anyway yeah 10/10 I'm waiting for the next season
i feel like a lot of fandoms pride themselves on being gayer than the source material but have they considered being less racist and less misogynistic than the source material as well . could be revolutionary
I do not even have the energy to list fandoms so like if you ask yourself "is this the fandom she meant?" Then yes, it is.
I discovered the tv show El Ministerio Del Tiempo (the ministry of time). Do I speak Spanish? Puedo habler español solo un poco. Do I know any bit of Spanish history? Inquisition... andddd.... that's all I have. Does it stop me? No. It did get me to start learning Spanish.
I just finished season 3 after binging the show for like two weeks. I just realized that most of the fandom is Spanish speaking (I mean, obviously, as anyone would've guessed). Now do I practice my Spanish solely for the fanfics or...?
Help.
I'm watching Taskmaster 20 rn and Ania gives off such Lily Evans energy, it's not even the red hair, it's just the way she approaches things I can't really describe it but she does.
Like her placing the wheel on the olive in the horse racing task and being very proud of it working? Yep that's Lily okay.
Anyway that's my personal fancast.
HC that there's this party trick James Potter can do, where he burrows a wand from someone (usually Sirius) and he can play drums on the air with two wands, and it makes the actual sound and everything.
Also James got really good at it over the years so he really goes all out on his drum solos.
Also yes he practiced it a lot on his own during the summer vacation before the 4th year so that's the main reason he can do it, and everytime someone else says it looks really simple James let's them try and really no one had managed to figure out how exactly James does this. because the spell itself to suddenly make drum sounds is not very intuitive, and also it is incredibly difficult to use a wand that is not yours in your non dominant hand and the coordination it takes alone. Anyway it especially baffles Lily because howwww???
(also yes at first he could only do it with Sirius's wand but he got so good at it that he can do it with any wand and he does it every chance he gets the show off that he is)

I was binging Merlin like my life depended on it for like a week now and I just realized I only have one season left (no spoilers I'll kill you).
I am now savouring it but what should I watch next??? What do I do with my life???
It's such a good show I like how whimsical it is.
Please I need more shows like this PLEASEEE.
(I am looking forward to "unlock" the fanfiction though)
Anyway any recommendations??? Please I'm begging!!!
R.i.P James Potter and Lily Evans
