Introduction and specs
I never expected to have to do this, but Here we are. I have currently managed to get 5 minutes to convince my affini captors to not domesticate me. It was... complicated. They see me and only think of a cute little Thing trying to be something, Who must be talked into refusing all freedom and becoming a doll, instead of a fellow individual. This had Its perks though, as telling them that I am very sensitive to unwanted drug use and hypnosis, to the point I could puke my bowels out from disconfort did get Them to have some "Pity" over me. I doubt it will Last Long though. Thus, after an Arrangement, they Said that if I Broadcast Who I am into the overnet, they can do an alternative to domesticating Me. I believe this is a Game to them, or Maybe it's for the "veterinarian" they are asigning me. I believe they should also call an engineer, I do Not know if a physician would be capable of repairing something non-biological. My Name is Salt, or as my old Friends called me "Salt, the jumpdrive duck" for my specialization in the field. The terran accord's census may have me registered as Jake William Anderson, even after getting the paperwork to change it 3 different times. As of now, I am aproximately 56 terran years old, though that matters little to my physical health. I have been against the terran accord's politics l Since a very Young age, the Details as to why I will Not explain In a Broadcasted message to the overnet, which many affini will undoubtedly see. Nonetheless, this rebeliousness was something I hid to the best of my ability, in Order to be able to get the technical studies in Order to survive in the capitalist Hellhole that was Terra. I graduated at 20 and spent 32 years working as a hyperspace jump engineer, and the Rest, at a prison, as a smuggler, an augmentics engineer, and a hacker. In my time as a hyperspace jump engineer, I was tasked with designing some hyperapace engine pieces, plotting jumps, and ocasionaly repairing and operating the engine itself due ro short-staffing. Due to the Dangerous Nature of my Job, as operating These can lead to fatal injuries, and my limbs got littered with 3rd degree burns. I spent resources on prosthetics to replace my dying limbs and PPE to shield my body, all in Order to marginaly Better operate the machinery, hauling exotic Matter and calculate more accurate, less intrusive hyperspace wormholes with marginaly less issues overall. My work did not go unnoticed due to the added spending in resources, and thus I got detained. This, along with the arrival of the Affini, was what it took me to vanish away from the accord to a Planet in nowhere with a few companions, whose Name I will Not Share in Order to maintain their safety. Using our shared knowledge and abilities, we managed to Form a settlement away from the "war" and the accord in a lost planet. we had aproximately 5 years before they found us. For a while, we managed to Not only live by, but thrive. We were a Family that Had managed to reinvent technology and society on our own. Using all of our intelect and Minds, we managed to even build a miniature nuclear reactor, and other relatively complex constructs. We could even Stock in exotic Matter to explore the star systems arround us. We got in Contact with various different kinds of xenotech, as we were quite literaly on the fringes of terran territory, and even managed to steal important imformation from the OCNI, which was all somehow littered here. the working theory is that we got picked up in some sort of hyperspace current, and so did all this lost tech. Thanks to this, we managed to heavily augment eachother in Order to adapt to our new homeworld and thrive better. It is by this Point that I became arround 65% augments. Eventualy, we Had to flee, as with our new-found heightened inteligence, we grew aware of how terribly outmatched we were by the compact, each of us going in our mary ways in Order to be slightly harder to track. It's from Here on that I started to spy and study even more xenotech, specialy phytotech and affini biotech. While Most of it I Haven't been able to reverse-engineer, there's some properties I have managed to apply to my own cybernetic frame, though many, so many of them are still unknown to me and thus I Couldn't apply. However, It/its comes more natural due to a certain affinity (heh) to innanimate objects, and they/them are the safest ones to use when not aware of the previous information. Can withstand 1800 terran ATM of pressure, and survive the environment of outer space for 10 minutes before dangerous radiation filters through, or Heat begins to damage the External shell. Can withstand Up to 700K in spans of 1 minute before overheating. Secondary pair of arms are shaped like earthworms(12 cm diameter, 0.5 meter length, can stretch to 2 meters), and contain 200 different tools, precision Tools and Powertools.
Engine: customized and miniaturized ARGUS V16 biomatter-fueled 545 metric horsepower explosion reactor engine. Secondary engine consists on a Tesla Power coil which converts electricity to Power through Electromagnetic induction. 300 metric horsepower, marking in total 845 metric horsepower. When engine is Not on thruster Mode, the Power is converted to electricity to refuel the 5 internal hypercooled sodiun batteries, which feeds all Other subsystems. Can act as a secondary stomach, which can digest anything, including Metals that would be toxic for terran consumption, to turn into fuel or Resources for necessary repairs of the cybernetic Body.
Reinforced Titanium cybernetic endoskelleton prosthetic endoskelleton. The original terran Bones which belong to the cranial, neck, Thorax, spinal and pelvic areas have been reinforced with various Suspension mechanisms Made of bio-compatible Materials and the use of custom-designed artificial viruses which replaced the genetic Code to make Bones Out of Calcium with tungsten, making them capable of supporting the weight with No effort. This was definetly done with stolen affini biotech data (more specificaly, with a barebones, riskier and slightly unstable version of class G Xenodrugs). Steady consumption of Titanium is needed to continue this structure, or otherwise this unit risks osteoporosis. even now, they still don't feel like the real deal.
Electronic actuators within the endoskelleton, along with synthetic muscle tissue Made of tensile Steel cables ensure flexible movement, joints allow or 360° rotation in all limbs, unless another Bodypart is in the way. Each one has a Power/weight Ratio of 0.1743 kW/kg.
Synaptic nerve endings interact with the biologic nervous system, accelerating mental reaction time to Stimuli to 5-10 microseconds. seconday effects include phantom pain, phantom sensation, and sensory mismatch. To ensure the safety of the brain, peripheral Processing Units have been installed arround the spinal chord and the frontal Cortex to dampen the load and raise cognitive function. Effectively, this unit is more machine than terran, both in body and mind. This however doesn't mean this unit is incapable of emotion, it only means this unit will tend to have a more rigid behaviour that other xenosophonts for some things, Like noting cuantities as accurately as possible when describing something, or Other anomalous attitudes for some Others, like pack-bonding with seemingly non-sophont constructs with relative esse while having more problems with sophont living beings in general, unless they are familiar to this unit. Hacks' arm]{Salt Hacks' arm, blueprints available on Standard Channel}(Selective Hazardous material and Xenodrug Antagonist Receptor Manufacturing) Air filters capable of capturing Airborne xenodrug agents by both secreting their antagonist compound within the clean breathable Fluid Chamber, and the xenodrug receptor proteins on the Filter itself. Along with that, it can Filter 99.419% of all known hazardous compounds to terran Life, and can act as an underwater respirator due to being both waterproof, and connected to the oxygenated fluid Tanks mentioned above (estimated time of Respiration at a terran ATM of pressure: 20 hours).
Complex electromagnetic Signal receptor optic, Infrared and Ultraviolet cameras (3) located behind screen. Can be deactivated and reactivated after a short delay to Change electromagnetic spectrum of vision (OOC Note Here: the range for Infrared and Ultraviolet is limited, it's just enough to Explore underwater depths). Antennae help detect Signal from lower electromagnetic spectrum like the overnet Signal,internet signal, radio Signal, etcetera. Secondary effects include Higher Sensitivity to light and possible overstimulation from it, thus the tendency to prefer lower-light enviroments like deep sea or caves. However, there is a knob on this unit's TV which can help reduce the overstimulation of bright Lights moderately.
Ventilation outlets located on the shoulders, lower back, legs, between the "ribs" and arms are connected to various heatsinks in Order to dissipate the heat of the engines and Subsystems as efficiently as we managed to build this unit, which is Prone to overheating over periods of more than 14 hours in constant operation without using sleep Mode, which is Marked by Steam visibly pouring Out of the outlets. However, this is not a universal marking of overexertion, strong emotional responses can also Psychosomaticaly cause this. All Life Support systems in this unit stay in operation until connected to the external Life Support in Order to cool down and purge waste, ensuring that If it is knocked Out, this unit's biologic components have a chance at survival.
The Screen located arround this Unit's old human head is. Modeled after a portable Panasonic CRT TV projector, and even Though it doesn't have a cathode Ray tube because this unit's brain needs to fit somewhere and the Thorax is already crowded with biologic, biotechnological and cybernetic components, this Wasn't Made possible. This was disapointing to this unit, but nonetheless, the current system works better than what the original Idea was. The Screen has a 2000x2000 pixel display on a 20cmx20cm area, and this unit's head is equipped with various knobs and Buttons on the screen which aren't conected to any system, purely for the aesthetic (except for the Sound sensitivity and Sight sensitiviry knobs). The Screen is Controlled by a CPU installed on this unit's prefrontal Cortex, aswell as a GPU installed on the occipital cortex, as previously stated, and can be deactivated at will should this unit desire to, or need to. The screen can be lifted to expose the cameras and a feeding tube connected to a bucal ingestión treatment system which will shred, superficialy digest and test the ingested Matter before deciding whether to send it to the biologic stomach or the reaction Chamber of this unit's engine. There's a universal port located on the back of the TV head which can be plugged by 75% of all machinery this unit has discovered and tampered with. This will be fixed soon, as this unit Plans to be able to Connect to any machinery, though It doubts it can tackle any affini tech without spending 300 years, which is 100 years more than the estimated lifespan of this unit's biological components within this Life-support system. There's a single u-shaped 180° highly sensitive waterproof Microphone located arround the Back of the TV, along with various auxiliary microphones which identify the direction of the Sound relative to this unit's location. Secondary effects include sensory overstimulation from loud, screeching Sounds Like those of an ancient terran locomotive, but it can be dampened with the aformentioned knob.
A simple Com. Link loudspeaker is installed behind this unit's Torso plates in Order to vocalize with its speech generation script and Play any audio that may relate to the situation at Hand. This loudspeaker tends to Glitch out when this unit is either overheating, running out of fuel for either the biological organs or the cybernetic parts, or having a strong emotional reaction. This unit's vocalizer Script applies a radio Filter to any spoken words, which can have any range in weight, resonance and tone.
Life Support systems hold this unit's esential biologic components (besides the brain, which is in a cranial capsule within this unit's TV head), are located in a highly flexible, plasteel alloy sterile Fluid tank with slight non-newtonian Fluid properties. The circulatory system is completely deattatched from this unit's cybernetic components in Order to Not cause lethal strain due to its weight. However, anaerobic exercise keeps It healthy, and the lower ammount of biologic Organs to carry blood to has increased its lifespan. The digestive runs paralel to the biomatter reactor, and both share an augmented colon and excretion organs capable of withstanding waste disposal of both cycles without ilness or ingury. The use of nanites and this unit's very Limited understanding of affini biotech was also used in order to pull this Off. The bladder is also connected to this channel, similarly to the terran's avian cloaca. This unit doesn't have genital Organs Nor any analogue (yet). This unit's lungs are filled with oxigenated fluid, in Order to avoid jump supression and aid with underwater pressure compensation. Standard breathing is still done, and is in fact more Efficient than with air.
These modifications aren't perfect, but for something done by [TWO DIGIT NUMBER] bored anarchists in the middle of nowhere over the course of [NUMBER OF YEARS] by hand, I'd say it's impressive. I love having smart Friends. Anyhow, this meets the Quota of information I am being coerced to publish. It'll be out in my Tanglr when the affini consider it's good.
