This one is HARD but I think combined with a big back catalogue and also having essentially snorted my way through most of it like a coke elf fiend: LiveOakWithMoss. No one does grimy Nargothrond incest quite like them and also Nesting is literally THEE spiritually maemags fic of all time to me.

7. A character, ship, or part of the legendarium you wish there were more fics about.

Listen I could give you all a really erudite answer, but truthfully what the heart wants is: Nerdanel/Finarfin. There are literally only 2-3 fics in the tag and all of them are triangulating with Feanor which is just not sexy 2 me.

Here are some thoughts on why we should have more fics on Finarfin/Nerdanel specifically:

Infidelity is sexy, especially when Earwen is right there and Nerdanel is the mother of guys who went out swinging and killed Earwen's people and possibly even relatives, who highkey are also Finarfin's relatives

Infidelity is sexy particularly when Feanor had a very low opinion of the people who stayed behind, calling them cowards and such

Infidelity is sexy in general

Finarfin is sad

Nerdanel is sad

Together they could be SLIGHTLY less sad

Finarfin probably is less weird about women

I mean just think about it! You could go sexy public affair in which Tirion is horrified and Elwing and Earendil showing up actually ends up accidentally averting a constitutional crisis. You could go fraught private affair of two parents deprived of their kids and with no one to talk about it. You could go forever second love! You could go impermanent attachments, in which Nerdanel knows that Finarfin will return to Earwen because Finarfin loves Earwen best! You could go scandal! You could go our intimate secret! They could overcome grief together! They could make each other miserable! THE WORLD IS OUR OYSTER.

LET 👏 ELVES 👏 HAVE 👏 SEXY 👏 AFFAIRS

I just think Finarfin and Nerdanel deserve a questionable hot girl summer together and I mean hot girl (I think Finrod comes by his genderfuckery honestly.)

Anyway, I know that I introduced this very abruptly in one of the closing chapters of sisyphus but I really was genuinely stunned to discover there are actually no fics focusin on them specifically. Inshallah @deweydecibelsystem has promised me fic when they eventually reach their Gil and Fingon longfic.

11. The last fic you read.

Literally the latest chapter of @sallysavestheday's No Docile Artifact i.e. Sally's long-promised Nerdanel fic, which I have been eagerly awaiting not least bc I love the twists and turns and little complexities and intimate details Sally gives to all her characters but esp. her women characters!! I love some of the unexpected details in this one and also the take on the Journey and Nerdanel as someone who has also known deep loss, but who is also working with that grief; someone emotionally aware and keenly observant but also with her own set sense of the world. Just really good.

My first piece ever for @fall-for-tolkien's Scribbles & Drabbles!

I was trying to come up a prompt I'd like to see and kept coming back to Elrond and Ioreth meeting. It seemed pretty likely to me that Elrond would visit the Houses of Healing while in Minas Tirith. I always really enjoyed Ioreth the books, and Elrond seems very patient with (and used to) especially talkative seniors

5. The fic or author who gets a character like no one else.

I love @antlered-vixen's Fëanor, I think he gets into that Elf's head like nobody's business. All of @thepastisaroadmap's Silvergifting stuff is extremely compelling, Annatar POV is a crazy challenge. I don't really read much Angbang but am consistently blown away by crackinthecup's Melkor. And @sallysavestheday your Glorfindel is THEE Glorfindel to me. But so many more! My friends are so talented! #myfriends

• But My Bond I Must Keep by Anonymous (I think... feel free to tell me if you know the author has taken credit so I can tag them) I love Beor/Finrod and am a sucker for foreshadowing during sex!! Read this at once.
