In 2003 he became popular for his comedy show on Comedy Central, The Chappelle’s Show!
His comedy wasn’t just funny, it was offensive - intelligent - and always with a hidden message. Because of the huge sucess (the first season DVD was the best-selling TV series set of all time) of the 2 seasons Comedy Central wanted to give him a 50 million dollar contract for the 3rd season, but he turned it down.
Because; He  ”hate[s] working twenty hors a day" and it’s difficult for him to continue his stand-up careesr which was "the most important thing” to him”.
After that he went sraight to South Africa and he stopped doing comedy. There are crazy theories about that, some say it has something to do with illuminati , some say it was beacause of drugs…
