i don’t mean to shit on havel too much but i can’t fathom coming out of the story with him on your mind when he’s less interesting than even the princess of praezia ariadna talks to a handful of times. havel as a character is just so thrown together. havel is like if they tried to make an offbrand generic party city costume of caitel.
ahin is a step up in my opinion if only because he’s not so painfully awkward at flirting, pretty and not creepy but in the end i was never going to care about hastily added romance dynamics when the story is called DAUGHTER of the emperor and her familial dynamics are obviously more fleshed out and central to the story.
i love romance but that’s the least of what daughter of the emperor has to offer and seeing people focus on that man even to the point of bashing ariadna as if she owes this milquetoast tertiary character her love just because every time you see an edgy “dominant” stock character 2nd male lead you act like it’s your first time seeing any man ever is just so…there are endless stories that will serve you up generically possessive wannabe ml on a silver platter with a fl who actually somehow wants him in the end. leave dote be. ariadna’s lack of freudian attraction to havel will only disappoint you.
