I got tagged by @radarsteddybear and @rose-of-pollux two weeks ago for one of these (sorry ^^'), and I just realised I actually am working on a WIP! So -

“How d’you feel?” asked Pike when her eyes and her pendant stopped glowing. Scanlan looked down at her hand, still on his bare chest, and grinned. “Like the most beautiful woman in the world is touching me, so… yeah, pretty awesome. Kinda horny, too, of course.” Pike drew back her hand immediately and snorted, her ears very pink. “Of course. Well,” she added more gently, “I think you’ll be fine.”

Early days!Scanlan is fun to write, for all I want to swat a rolled-up newspaper at his head. (also, fun fact: that last line is 100% wrong in the short term 🥰)

“See something you like, Pike?” She colors a bit for having been called out, but doesn’t deny it. It’s pretty obvious she was studying him. “Maybe I do. You’ve got the well-traveled look on you.” “I’ve had that as long as we’ve known each other, silly. Traveling was literally all we did.” “Yeah, but it’s different now. It’s like…you’re glowing from it. I think it was good for you to take this break.” “Got the chance to properly show off my shining star to the world!” “D’ya mind not feeding his ego anymore?” Kaylie interrupts. “He’s enough of a preening peacock as it is.” “Aw, sweetie, I wasn’t talking about me. I was talking about you!”
