A kid picked it up about ten minutes ago. And no matter how many times I told her we don’t take things that aren’t ours she won’t give it up

       ❝ So it was your kid? ❞

Oh um and you left it at a coffee shop?

        ❝ Maybe? I don’t know. I’m searching everywhere, but we were here earlier with the teddy bear. ❞

“Hmm — I guess you don’t need this then. Such a pity. Little Hanna will be oh, so disappointed.” The vampire grinned as he showed the giant teddy bear, right before throwing it in the nearest trash can. “Ah, you’re truly such a terrible mother, Red. I feel bad for the kid, truly I do.” To make a point, Alaric sighed dramatically as he patted her on the shoulder before walking past her. Acting like this, pretending and faking it all —- it had been the easy thing to do so. Being this person wasn’t hard at all. But facing the reality, his reality, that was hard. So hard he hadn’t even tried. Nor did he had any intention to do.

Seeing Alaric throwing Hana’s teddy bear in the trash bin had forced a different strength to come out. The witch was feeling like an overprotective mother. For a moment, the young woman actually felt like he had insulted not only her, but also her own daughter for doing what he had done. Something snapped in her. Since the crying toddler was on the other side of the mall, she didn't even care about being nice to Jared's 'savior'. It was her hand on his arm that tried to stop him from walking away from her, stepping in front of him as the witch lifted her chin in challenge.

“Holy shit —-”

“If I were you, I’d change it to ‘so stupid and hideous even toys run away from me’.”

        ❝ Ha ha ha, Mr. I’m so funny I make babies cry. ❞

“Nope, no teddy bear anywhere around.”

        ❝ Are you sure it wasn’t Josh who stole it? He would be the type of wanting to prank me. ❞

“Sorry, can’t say I do.”

        ❝ Really? Hana is going to be so upset. ❞

Thea giggled at the girl’s antics. “Pleasure to meet you. But I meant to ask what family you come from.”

"Family I come from? Uhh... a normal one?"
