Zorya Sisters are done!
I wanted to show the different color versions I did for this one.
Initially I thought it might be fun to work in a primary color scheme (red, yellow, blue) I usually work rather saturated with my colors. I wanted the red to pop, the gold/yellow to be a foundation throughout the image, and the blue to just peak out from the background here and there.
But when I am looking at art that I want to put on my wall I will often be drawn to a muted color scheme. I was looking at a piece from the illustrator Sheilah Beckett (her 12 dancing princesses and the 12 days of Christmas from a little golden book collection are prime examples of a illustrator that helped to define my artist childhood and joy) But one of approaches to a more muted color pallet made me want to try it out.
Let me know which color you are drawn to. :)
