Okay fuck it S2 is gonna be 30 episodes. I'm adding some back in retroactively to make the pacing better and fix some of my issues upon rereading it all. Fml

Issue 1: Reese gives up and starts complying too quickly.

Issue 2: Saff is only ever shown with mania, despite what I've stated about her mental illness. I want to show her absolutely devastated over all the failed experiments

Issue 3: Saff Ditchling experiment is foreshadowed but never actually realized. I might end up just putting it in the background of the upcoming lab ep tho

Issue 4: Doc Kelly needs more spotlight. Especially due to what happens in the current planned ending.

Issue 5: Its not clear that there's a large time gap between ep 19 and ep 20. I might add some of these extra eps there, and cut out some of Kaneeekas dialogue.

Issue 6: ending is way too abrupt.

Sooo my plan is:

Episode 10.5: Cold Storage

Reese finds out that Saffrons treatment of him could be much, much worse

Episode 19.4: Saffron's Bad Day

Between artists block and a finite reading supply, Reese asks for more library books at a particularly unfortunate time

Episode 19.8: Trial Flight

Saffron pushes Reese to his physical limits while on an outing to the cliffs. Doctor Kelly gets to come too.

Something to do with DK, probably.

Plus one more ep for the ending. We'll see how it feels when I actually make it.

I already made ep 10.5 but I might wait to post it until after the series is done. Y'all wanna see it now or later?

isolation in whump

so i love this trope but im not talking the basic 'locked in a room and isolated for days until they beg and break' (do love that too) but im talking about the emotional isolation.

the only people whumpee has around are people who hurt and abuse them they don't get to see people treat them a human, on top of this whumpee has to go through all of their emotions and pains alone and when they try and ask a guard or whumper for help they are completely ignored. this would make a person feel very isolated from people

Dangerous Whumpee

CW: Restraints, muzzled, collared

Whumper keeps Whumpee in an excessive amount of restraints (can’t move an inch for chains, collared, muzzled) to ensure that they won’t break out - even if Whumpee is completely cooperative

Whumpee who does fight back, who bites, claws, scratches, does everything they can to cause as much damage to Whumper as possible

Whumper who “has to” keep Whumpee constantly sedated

Whumpee is a danger to themself, intentionally or not, so Whumper has to protect them before they fatally injure themselves

Nonhuman Whumpee is percieved as dangerous and muzzled/shock collared before they can plead their case, if they even can

Caretaker who is scared of Whumpee!

Stranger Caretaker arriving to rescue Whumpee after defeating Whumper but hesitating when they realise who or what Whumpee is

Whumpee’s hope turning to dread as they see this, and silently begging for mercy

Whumpee who lashes out at Caretaker, who hurts then one day, and guilt hits them at full force

Whumpee who believes they’re a danger to Caretaker and takes it upon themself to remove themself from the equation

Caretsker who flinches when Whumpee moves suddenly

Whumpee wakes up after being rescued, filled with relief - only when they try to move they notice the chains, and the muzzle

Or Whumpee wakes up in a hospital but is restrained to the bed “for their own safety”

Whumpee is a living weapon or villain and everyone is scared of them - except Caretaker’s child

Whumpee who tries to be gentle and unassuming to win the favour of those around them

I have placed all of the dialogue for the rest of the series on their respective pages, and drawn some of ep 22, 23, 24, and 25. I kinda want to color in some of the last episodes so we’ll see how that goes when I get there.
