Do you work at heights?
There are endless articles online regarding energy absorbing lanyards, also known as shock absorbing lanyards, that basically state "use the right lanyard for the applicable job being performed". These articles are informative but they are missing an integral part of lanyards....Weight. I'm not referring to how heavy the physical weight of a lanyard is but the weight of the individual matched to the weight criteria of a lanyard. With the new CSA Z259.11-17 standard the E4 and E6 classifications have been eliminated and replaced with confusing fall charts, distances, and a lot of mathematical information that the general worker or management would find difficult to comprehend. Within the next month, we will be releasing our new lanyards with simplified labels that, with a simple look, assist workers in identifying the correct lanyard that meet their body weight.
