7 months have passed, and Saeed still doesn’t know what “home” means.

He was born displaced, growing up between fear and exhaustion instead of safety. We tried to return… we only managed to stay for one month, holding on to the hope of a simple life, but that hope didn’t last. The area became dangerous again, and our home was marked… then destroyed.

Saeed never played in his home, never laughed in it, never had a chance to feel that he belongs somewhere.

Today, at just 7 months old, he sits on the rubble of his home… as if his childhood has been buried there too.

My heart breaks every day seeing him grow up like this—without safety, without beautiful memories.

This is not what I wished for my child… and not what any child deserves.

My baby Saeed, who is only 7 months old, was also affected. All of his clothes are wet, and we have nothing dry for him right now.

We are left with almost nothing. We are trying to survive this situation, but starting over with no resources feels impossible.

When Saeed was born, he weighed only 2 kilograms, and I didn’t have any clothes or diapers for him. Each diaper cost $5, an amount I couldn’t afford. My husband was unable to work, so I had to give him clothes from his siblings just to keep him warm, and I even took some clothes and diapers from our neighbors to provide something for him. At that time, our home was in Al-Tuffah neighborhood, a very dangerous area, and we couldn’t go out to get his necessities. Despite all these challenges, I did my best to care for him, even though the circumstances were so harsh.

Even after all the hardships, Saeed dreams of very simple things, like a small piece of chocolate. Eid has arrived, and I couldn’t even buy him new clothes. Every day I feel the pain of seeing him wish for something so small while I cannot provide it.
