I really do love Claudia so much and I love that she broke the salt circle herself. That's my blazing inferno of rage and determination. I felt like her show stopping fuck you forever was a fair and true representation of her rage and grief but more of a tragic endpoint than a true encapsulation of everything she felt for the entirety of her life. There was a period of time when she was a kid and she loved them both fairly uncomplicatedly. I think she meant it in the moment when she said Louis was her favourite even though it wasn't true all of, or even most of the time. I don't think Claudia's unquiet ghost disproves or even diminishes that truth, it's just a reflection of the fact that she did actually grow up. She's frozen in a girl's body; she remains a girl in Louis' mind, but Claudia herself became an adult up and had to reckon with the reality of her situation even if Louis didn't, really, because he was much happier to have a permanent dependent than she was to be a permanent dependent. She hates him more because she loved him more, once, and because he let her down in ways no one else had the capacity to. She was publicly executed in a humiliating spectacle immediately after learning the truth about both her turning and the fact that he'd lied to her or evaded that truth for the entirety of their relationship. Perhaps most importantly she lost Madeline in death and honestly that's the thing I can't get over, just on a personal level. I think everything she said to both of them made sense and was well grounded in what we saw in seasons one or two but Claudia making it out, Claudia finding Madeline- a person she could trust, a person who put her first, a true companion- was one of the sweetest and brightest moments of the series and Claudia without her for eternity is such a bummer. They've made me so fucking sad without that one. I hope breaking the salt circle means something, in terms of both her ability to fuck shit up on the earthly plane and her ability to go find her woman.

how have we gotten to the point where people are afraid to be sexually attracted to real actual people???? what are we doing? it's okay if you wanna fuck that person, that's normal. like are we okay???????

at any rate, you can rest assured that i will never be shamed into not wanting to fuck. people are hot and i will continue to celebrate that fact. sex is good and sexual feelings are good.

the scariest thing about old tv isnt really the racism or the sexisim because you kinda go in braced for that it's all the scenes where suddenly an actress is holding a lion cub or a chimpanzee is in the same room as a toddler, or suddenly theres a lion, or there's a chimpanzee again but it's driving a car, or holding a lighter, or holding fireworks. You just kind of watch in horror as over and over an actress performs with only 1960s tv film shootings best animal handling between her and the opening to Nope.

it's always "did you really need to burn down your workplace to prove a point" and never "how was the revenge arson? did you have fun doing revenge arson? were the flames pretty?"
