and it infuriates you - you ! you cannot rely on anyone. this is how you live your life. you lean on hubert, because you have no choice but to otherwise. but were it up to you - were it possible - you would have no connection with people at all. dimitri infuriates you because he has that connection. a brother’s stranglehold on your heart, a last gift from a mother who saw you as only a lamb to the slaughter. nothing more, and nothing less.
