ARIES: With a devil-may-care attitude, they’re careless and violent with it. They spare no thought for their personal safety and often portray a hidden death wish. Their work is almost always bloody and an Aries loves the hands on approach when it comes to wreaking havoc. Aries find weaker villains embarrassing and will rarely acknowledge help from someone they don’t deem worthy, even if that puts them at risk. Almost every word that leaves their mouth is vulgar or laced with euphemism and they use their cocky attitude and fast paced life as a shield to protect them from their conscience. Once an Aries realises just how twisted they’ve become they can have explosive breakdowns that end with more casualties than their previous antics. 

TAURUS: Taurus are some of the most sensual villains, undeniably beautiful but silent and haunting with it. They’re very in tune with nature and the energy that comes with that. They ignite passion within their victims and watch with great delight as it consumes them. They crave loyal partnership and someone to spend eternity with them, but their desire is too ravaging and their lover will burn up and be destroyed much to the Taurus’ despair. When this happens they’re thrown into fits of untameable rage. They will spend their entire lives searching out that ideal partner who can withstand the pure force of their powers, eradicating those who can’t. 

GEMINI: A Gemini is too thoughtful for their own good. Like an Aries, they need to act or they become trapped behind blocks of the mind, though a Gemini is much more likely to struggle with this. They constantly battle two opposing sides of their personality, both fighting for dominance. Their obsession with the good and bad side of their personality irritates them to the point of insanity and they will do anything to drown those little light thoughts out. The difference between the Gemini and the Sagittarius, is that instead of accepting those opposing sides of themselves, the Gemini will try to destroy the one that most displeases them. Gemini are talkative villains. They use their words as weapons and love to watch them wriggle under the skin of their opponents. They’re energetic too, constantly moving around while thinking in a rush of ideas that make their heads ache incessantly. Also, they crave the attention of the masses, often broadcasting their twisted plans long before carrying them out.

CANCER: Cancer villains are very emotionally driven and unstable. Their familial ties are strong and when someone they care for - often children or those who can’t defend themselves - have been hurt they can become particularly vicious. However this can reverse if the Cancer feels a family member has wronged or betrayed them, and they won’t think twice to get them back in dark or degenerate ways which are always extremely creative. Cancer’s don’t enjoy straight forward, face to face confrontation and instead prefer to work behind the scenes. They play the innocent and use their powers of emotional manipulation to their advantage so that they can have a front row seat while watching their victims lives fall apart around them. The emotional intensity which can be their greatest weapon is also often their undoing. They get too involved and since their crimes are often incredibly personal, they’re unable to keep in together if they fail, going into blind screaming fits.

LEO: Leo villains are egotistical and definitely their own biggest fan. They’re loud and charismatic to the point that you almost find yourself liking them despite their deeds. Almost. They’ll do whatever they have to to get what they want, no matter the consequences. Nothing is ever enough for the Leo and they’re constantly craving more. More attention, more money, more thrills. And nothing will stop them from obtaining these things. They’re definitely the most ambitious. Leo’s have a supernatural ability to control people. It’s like others are drawn to them, willing to do anything to please them in a bid to be more like them. They’re hypnotic and mesmerising and although you might desperately want to, you just can’t look away. Meshed with a Libra, these two could achieve a lot together.

VIRGO: Articulate, intelligent and incredibly hardworking, the Virgo villain is a perfectionist and overachiever. They are truly obsessed with their projects and schemes and frequently make themselves ill with their fixation. They’ve stood out their entire life because of their continuous addiction to success which resulted in years of teasing and torment and has turned them bitter. The Virgo villain is nervous and skittish and rarely agrees to work with anyone, locking themselves away and turning into a mad scientist type character. Despite their brilliance, a Virgo isn’t likely to brag about their intellectual superiority. They’re kind and sort of misunderstood, but when someone provokes them, someone with a large ego perhaps, they can belittle and undermine them, allowing their insecurities to flow out and becoming quite cruel.

LIBRA: Never trust the Libra, they’ll tell you whatever they think you want to hear and you’ll never know what’s really going on inside them. They’re charming and appealing and they know it, always using it to their advantage. Like Cancers, a Libra will sneak around in the background instead of addressing their plans straight on. A Libra villain will always be a step ahead of you, predicting your every move and knowing exactly how to defuse you best. This can be anything from an ego stroking or reassurance to flat out seduction which doesn’t bother them in the slightest due to their emotional distance from every job, this makes manipulation simple too. They’re also very good at understanding what traits work best to their advantage and won’t try anything that doesn’t apply perfectly. Injustice is a struggle for the Libra villain and they will frequently go to exaggerated lengths to ‘put things right’ when they feel fucked over. Like Leo, they crave attention too and this over exaggerated lifestyle seeps out into their crimes, forever searching for that applause and adoration.

SCORPIO: Scorpios are dark, silent and sensual killers. ‘Never judge a book by it’s cover’ sums them up perfectly. Although they retain a calm and collected persona, just bellow the surface they are a raging pool of molten lava, just ready to explode and destroy everything in their path. They’re very jealous, controlling and untrusting and their emotions are far too strong for them to handle which makes a lot of their crimes ‘crimes of passion’. Scorpio villains like to pave their own way and write their own rules, creeping out of the shadows to do whatever the fuck they want. They don’t comply or fit in and they’re okay with that, but nothing enrages them more than when people talk derogatively toward them because of their lifestyle. They’re already quite loathing characters who set the bar too high and feel a lot of self-hate when they fail, so if someone happens to add salt to the wound, the outcome is really inevitable. Scorpios crave respect, even if you hate them you should respect the power they hold over you and if you don’t, well… good luck.

SAGITTARIUS: Distant and constantly struggling with light and dark, a Sag villain is complicated and explosive at times. They’re constantly plagued by their conscience and sense of morals and will only hurt people they think deserve it, acting as a sort of Robin Hood character. That doesn’t mean to say they’re not able to let go and sink further into darkness. They can be deceptive and their love life often ends in a volatile eruption. Sometimes they can be drawn by the ideals of a normal life but it’s never to last, they’re too escapist and the idea of being trapped makes their skin crawl. With all their need to care for others but that overpowering desire for freedom, maybe they’re destined to live alone on the outskirts of society, forever battling their inner demons.

CAPRICORN: Capricorn villains are another that have a deep-rooted need for control and power. They have two major draws: money, power and material wealth, and knowledge, intelligence and universal understanding. Once they’ve gained these - and they will gain them - they become virtually unstoppable. However in their quest for absolute perfection a Capricorn will cut corners and disregard many aspects of life that others would hold close. Family and emotional ties are usually the first to go which leaves our Cap cold, distant, withdrawn and builds an icy wall between them and the rest of the world, all in the name of reaching their end goal. A Capricorn’s anger is just as frozen and it rarely shows on their features. They talk in a monotone voice and will be sure to deliver their revenge in an unfeeling and businesslike manner, having their ‘connections’ do all the dirty work so nothing is ever traced back to them. 

AQUARIUS: An Aquarius villain is original, independent and unique. They’re also incredibly impatient and erratic in their behaviour, they want it all and they want it now. This energy draws revolutionaries and those looking for a radical leader toward them. An Aquarius is the type of villain you find lurking in abandoned warehouses with their obedient followers, ready to launch their attacks that rarely have point nor purpose. Their lives have always taken strange courses and enlightened them in ways other couldn’t even begin to understand. They like to apply their philosophies to their crimes and are obsessed with showing the world how fragile their system really is.

I recently debuted these new pieces, “League Rooms”, at this year’s Sakura con in Seattle, WA. It’s been a while since I last did an artist alley, but thankfully I had my friends NikoNeko and Glittergoblin to help me out. 

First is the Game Room, where all the arcade skins like to hang out. Baron may not have an arcade skin, but he’s a huge nerd, watching them play DBZ fighters. This was a fun piece since I included a bunch of other nerdy gamer details… can you spot them all?

Second is the Kotatsu Party… or the aftermath of it anyway. Yasuo is relaxing with some tea, while Akali is considering seconds (or thirds?). Ahri is napping off her food-coma under the warmth of the kotatsu with her Poro napping buddy. Annie feeds dragon her leftovers. Zyra’s seed is providing a bit of zen to the room in the corner.

Third isn’t so much a “room”, rather it’s a slice of Freljord life. Here you can find Nunu fishing for Fizz and friends, or like Lissandra, be totally embarrassed by your ice-born sisters fighting over fish like children. Though they’re not the only ones who are hungry here…

Fourth is also not quite a room, but a cake! King Poro’s cake at that. A sugary sweet place, where even a little mummy boy may hopefully make friends, if Jinx doesn’t chase all the poros away. 

The fifth room is maybe more recognizable to those of you who actually play league. We’ve got the two store keeps from ARAM, one from Twisted Treeline, and one from Summoner’s Rift. The Treasure Traders are rolling around in your gold, cuz you know you need that essential early game item.
