ok here's funny disclaimer first: im not really. good with coming up with stories or something. im more of a technical person and i can do technical things/details/coming up with facts or explanations rather than writing actual stories so most of my characters are like. concepts. ideas for drawing pretty images. without any actual stories behind them. my touys and actually i love them dearly and i love drawing them and making things for them (toyhouse is one of my passions and i love doing pretty pages for characters) and. i think that's also a valid way of having. characters. even if I don't play with them like intended
and i think im gonna hide everything under a readmore so it wont be. too long lol!
moss. well yeah yeah we've all seen moss. the main sona of many years, mascot, something something. a hyena, lots of bright colours, design is kinda fluid and i still dont really have a more or less clear ref sheet :DD still dont really know how to refer to moss in english in terms of pronouns (it? they? bc i refer to moss as he but like. in eng it doesnt feel correct) but like. yeah
i really like the idea of something digital-ish cosmic-ish for moss, and i also actually love to play around and give it some... modifications? forgot the word. three-headed moss, moss with extra limbs, etc etc, and basically im a big fan of gore of moss👍👍 even if i dont really do it. moss is fun to experiment with! also as a fun fact, current design (purpl) is based on certain musical theatre related things. and a game puss! by teamcoil :)
serenum is also one of most important personal characters to me, also was based on loosely the same musical theatre stuff that moss was based on, but serenum's entire vibe is just. theatre and all the artistic things. my dream of being in a theatre. i somehow managed to come up with that design a bit more than 7 years ago and he still haven't really changed... dont really have much to say about him but i love him dearly. and he has a really pretty gallery on toyhouse, love commissioning people to draw ser
louise! the absolutely gorgeous latias/mega houndoom fusion my dear friend sylvonyx designed for me. perfect creature. cant get enough of her. theres a 3d model of her i started making a while ago and i gotta finish it. i love pokemons, i love latiases, i love houndooms, and she just scratches my itches in the best way possible <3
i've already shown morrigan but im showing her again :) also one of my own designs, gotta make a new ref for her at this point! she's a warrior and takes inspiration from nordic/scandinavian mythology. i wont tell much about it, it was my friend's, from whom i initially made morri, request/idea, and i swear i dont remember at all what they were telling me about it. but hell yeah to women with weapons! and she also has an anthro form and human form
and now ONTO MY DOGS. sadly im a very um. basic person when it comes to canines of sorts and i have a whole bunch of them and i love them. hastag my dogs
xavier. also one of the oldest guys of mine and my favouriiiite because we love dramatic dogs with powers yeah!!!! basically its just. the whatever, i love drawing him dramatic and commissioning people to draw him dramatic. he has an anthro form and and it happened when i was really into 17-19th century so hes like. 18th century judge who does some shit. or maybe not a judge, i still dont know. took lots of inspiration from victor hugo books (javier from les miserables, claude frollo from notre dame, you get the idea) and something like the three musketeers trilogy
and here's the funny thing: him and morri are a pair/married. yeah. both feral and anthro versions. theyre something like asshole4asshole. two bitches who bitch about everything. maybe they even kill people together. love them a lot
shayne! my friend bought her for me while i didnt know it and was aiming to buy her myself. got sad when "someone" happened to be quicker than me and then boom. and shes also a character i love dearly, i love her design, was thinking of her as a nuclear chemist/scientist. my smart badass woman
kyris is one of the oldest adopts i ever bought. she(?) is more of a concept, in monster hunter games there is a monster called xeno'jiiva who sleeps in a cave in a big pretty cocoon and absorbs energy and something from surroundings. kyris is something like that. shes is N meters tall, sleeps in a cocoon in a crystal cave, absorbs energy, has crystals growing in her body, and also roams the world like some sort of deity. many many nice ideas for nice drawings. i also love drawing gore-ish things of her :)
this one doesnt have a name or certain pronouns (yet?) but they're like. some sort of a sona. love this design a lot, want to come up with something. one of the recent characters! only 2,5 years old

Do you plan the colors / is there a method you use or do you just wing it??

usually i do have something set in mind, like the general colours/mood/details, it's usually easier for me to think out a picture and what i want from it including colours and then replicate it on paper (digital canvas lol). the thing is, i never know what im gonna end up with! i try lots of tweaking and colour correction and filters and etc in the process and you just never know what's gonna look best. there were times when i had colored a piece and then ended up... not using it at all and going in a completely different direction. i've been meaning to make a post about gradient maps for a while and i hope to get to it one day, it's currently one of my main instruments and they help me a lot :)
but mostly it's just. i do approximate colours and then start tweaking settings. contrast (i love playing around with contrast! more full-ish detailed pieces look better with high contrast, flat ones often look really nice with low contrast (dimmed down whites for example) and high vibrance/saturation), gradient maps (really good for going through different contrast variations (setting the gradient map layer on luminosity and just switching different maps) and basically colour variations. looking at what looks better, trying different things, etc), camera raw filters in photoshop (i also use them mostly set to luminosity/color/saturation), etc etc. i love ps filters since they do most of work for me and i just have to tweak them to my liking!

but mostly: don't be afraid to experiment and play around and if you won't go with colours you initially planned — well, let it flow! colours are fun and there are lots of fun ways to work with them. i personally make this like, a very thorough process because i actually enjoy it a lot! and often i start with really messy and dirty colours and i just kinda have to. go through it. do the drawing part and then go off with all these things! :D

would you believe it was pretty cold (for me personally) (18°C) (bad blood circulation in me i guess. im like a reptile. i need warmth and sun) today at where im from tho it is really sunny! (and windy.) spending the time outside while i can, i love my outside :)
oh i love opossums!!!! funny animals who do funny things. never seen one irl tho. but i have an opossum character my friend gifted me!
