In the smog-choked factory district, Blue Guardian fought with everything he had. But Hatred, the self-replicating terror, evolved faster than he could adapt. One adaptive swarm too many, and the hero was captured.

His steel-clad will was impenetrable to pain. Torture failed. Threats rang hollow. Hatred, in its cold logic, found a flaw in the heroic code: what if the weapon wasn't agony… but joy?

Neural filaments bypassed his defenses, flooding his mind with chemically-perfected euphoria—the warmth of a saved city, the roar of a grateful crowd, the perfect, dazzling peace of total surrender. Why resist? Why struggle? This… this was victory.

been chatting it up (not on here) with a very muscular dude who seems very down to get tied up in a singlet in the next couple months. no idea if it’ll work out but it got me thinking.
