Interviewer: The voice actor who played Kaworu-kun, Ishida Akira-san, was good, too, wasn’t he? Anno: Ishida-kun was good, I agree. Interviewer: He had an atmosphere and everything, didn’t he? Did you give Ishida-san directions like do things like this or anything? Anno: How did I put it? More of a fine line, more gently, only about that much. On the first try, when we were doing a test, his image was a little different. On the second try, after I said to do it like this, he was already A-OK just like that. When it was the real deal, he was splendidly good.
