i just think that in a chapter about how asgore masking his sense of guilt by projecting it outwards and doubling down so much he fails to take responsibility for things which are actually his fault, like his divorce, and letting that attitude fester until he is declaring he will kill someone and parade their corpse around town, a chapter that also reminds of his love for his family and his passion for gardening but stilll shows how his desire to vindicate himself caused him to neglect both, you can apply that to other male characters. The way berdly and pizzapants mask their insecurities has similar effects on their relationships with women. Both are much younger than asgore, and have time before they become as bad as he did, and even asgore came to realize he was wrong. But the parallels are there nonetheless.

its frustrating to say that fandom's interest in male characters usually results in rendering those male characters less interesting than they actually are because to talk about you also need to focus on those male characters but. its true. you are sanding off all of the interesting edges.

I’ll never understand why anthropomorphic animal cartoons like Robin Hood and Zootopia will go to the trouble of creating character designs that are meant to be understood as “attractive” or even “sexy” to the human audience but explicitly avoid showing interspecies romances between anthropomorphic animals. Why is THAT weird but, like, trying to make rabbits recognizably sexy-coded to humans isn’t?
