Father forgive me it has been 3 years (???) since my last live figure drawing. It was fun tho hopefully can go more often.

WIP of page 38 from my comic. I spent a dumb amount of time modeling Delilah’s car engine, and it appears in exactly one frame ._.

I used a Blender plugin called Human Generator for most of the characters, it lets you customize appearances (including clothes), choose from a library of poses, and tweak poses yourself. I’ve been looking for a way to get rid of Daz since I hate moving between programs, and this worked pretty well. Only downside is the file gets huge if you have more than 5 of these guys. 

View from Maryland Heights, was a pretty tough 4hr hike carrying pleinair equipment, did some rough color blockouts on site and finished up at home.

snippet of page 29, it has been 3(4?) years since i started this project and im finally starting to figure out a style/process that lets me work in a quick, reproducible manner, while still looking decent. guess that last part is subjective but for now im happy with it

quick painting after work. not from a specific panel, just sketching and trying to not over work things. 

sketch and 3d blockout steps that come before most of my painting. Sometimes if the lighting is predictable, I’ll only do a few real renders to establish consistency for other panels. In this case it’s a bit more complex so I prefer to have renders so I’m not painting completely blind.
