born as the second youngest daughter of highgarden, azalea should have received endless love and support from her parents, but it soon became evident she fell under the same trap as her other siblings and strived to find acceptance. and while the others were able to survive without it, as if they were born to not need love themselves, azalea strove for perfection in every possible way just get a mere sign of pride from either one of her parents.
and she knew that they didn't know what love was, that they were never meant to be parents to one child let alone 5 yet she also held out hope that there may have been a day where they saw their ways and tried to fix them. any sliver of approval she seemed to receive she ate up, remembering that moment as fondly as possible.

she had an uneasy feeling, some call it a hunch while others call it a sign but she felt the need to check on her mother. seeing the door slightly ajar, she opened it and took a step in, only to slip and fall to the floor. as if, by some weird chance, god was playing a joke on her a flash of lightning lit up the room and azalea quickly realized the liquid she had slipped in was no ordinary liquid - and her eyes trailed to the lifeless body of her mother just a few feet further
she couldn't scream, no she didn't want to scream, as if she knew that it was only a matter of time before the same fate befell her mother as it had her father. yet it seemed almost funny how fast her brother was to comfort her, and she knew he had to be behind it but was unable to even utter a word - only stare at her mother's lifeless eyes
in those five years she kept to herself, tending to her studies of botany, poisons, and weapons in hopes she'd be useful to her family. she also managed to meet a young lord who visited highgarden who she fell for instantly, the feeling seemingly reciprocated by them. frequently keeping in touch, she hopes to eventually meet them again and one day even marry them if it gets to that point
