james broke eye contact out of embarrassment for what he was about to say. james had always pride himself on the cool, unbothered exterior he let girls see, but if he told her that he thought she had more interesting things going for her than himself, he feared that entire front he put up would go down the drain. “i just… figured i wasn’t the most… exciting thing going on for you.” he mumbled softly, praying the red in his face wasn’t too prevalent. 

it takes a second or two for the new information to sink it. then red’s lips stretch wider into gaping grin, a laugh threatening to escape her lips, her eyebrows arch for the sky. “ what ?? that’s stupid like... why would you even think that ?? i can’t have time for my friends now ?? ” red’s eyes wander james’ face still taking in the fact he is here— right in front of her. “i mean, you are an arrogant narcissistic self-entitled prick but you are MY friend, or at least i thought you were. i want to be the one to show you around, asshole.” she chuckles in hopes it makes the air around them less tense, and with her right hand she reaches out to him and ruffles his hair playfully. 

mariposa’s face dropped and she had to stop herself from groaning loudly. “wow look it’s the bitch who is so generic that she looks like one of the people i actually give a fuck about!” she crossed her arms over her chest. “hitting a new low so we decide comparing me to the big cheese is your new course of action that’s adorable.”

“how fucking stupid are you to not see who you are talking to first ??”red instantly laughed at mariposa’s snotty remark, putting one hand on her stomach. “honey, i’d rather be THAT than one of those bratz with heads twice as big as their bodies, such as yourself.” red spoke with a coldness she'd never heard before, “okayyy, says the person whose life is so uneventful that you have to tell people you ran out of lotion. you might want to try harder next time you practice bitchcraft. now, butterfly, please fly away before i spray you with raid.” 

james took all her blows, verbal or physical, with a light chuckle, he almost couldn’t help it. in all reality, james didn’t think he did anything wrong by not reaching out to red when he came to her town, in fact, he did all he could to forget about her since he figured she’d forgotten him. sure, he’d rather she wasn’t beating on him and angry with him, but james considers it all signs of her feelings for him. “chill,” he cooed, trying to block her arms before just deciding to grab one of her hands. “i didn’t think you wanted to hear from me,” he grinned at her. “now i see how much i matter to you, after all…” 

red’s eyes switch from james’ face to their hands and back to james’ face. after letting him finish talking, she let out a sarcastic chuckle. it was unbelievable. was he always this annoying ?? yes, red was angry at him for not saying goodbye when she was in london and losing contact after that, but not calling when he was in her hometown was a dick move. “ohh— shut up. you wish.” she smiled, “what makes you think i didn’t want to hear from you, huh?”

the man stepped backwards slightly from surprise at red’s targeted response. the corners of his mouth felt unnatural with the serious expression he knew he should be wearing, instead he was failing to fight the urge to burst into laughter. he smiled genuinely at his old friend before letting out a chuckle and in his dryest, most sincere tone, “i am the proper shebang, huh?”

“modest too.” red instantly slammed her elbow against his stomach as hard as she could, “oops!” she chuckled, “sorry, bit of a muscle spasm there.” she folded her arms tightly over her freshly ironed shirt, “you know what ?? i am not sorry. you deserve it.” she shook her head in a disapproval motion, holding herself back from hitting him again. “why didn’t you call me and told me you were here ?? ” she said as she placed her hands on her hips and squinted her blue eyes at him— she was pretty sure she was the only one taking this seriously. 

 “this may sound out of line, but do you think it’s possible for humans to solve our trash crisis by just puttin’ it up on the moon? certainly nothing is happening up there… who would we be interrupting?” james thought aloud aimlessly to the few people within ear shot, a common occurrence during the slow parts of the day.

red turned her head to the person speaking only to stare at him in a complete state of shock. conflicted, she stared at james— she didn’t know whether to be HAPPY or ANGRY. part of her wanted to hug him but she also wanted to rip his arm off. she stutter trying to find the right words to say.  “ that way you’d be sent to the moon and people like me won’t have to deal with british judas-fucks such as yourself. such a clever idea wow james, aren’t you the whole shebang ?? ” 

mariposa let out an annoyed groan as she realized that she was out of her favorite kind of lotion oil. it was so easy for her to use and now she was stuck with borrowing something from her co-workers which she did not like to do. and when she made the trip to nearest shop they were all out of it. “i swear the universe hates me,” mariposa complained, glad to see someone she was familiar with as she exited the shop. “it’s just a bottle of lotion oil. and i ain’t got the time or effort to order it online.”

after hearing a familiar voice, red turned around swiftly hoping it wasn’t who she thought was. news flash: it was. she held in a groan when she saw mariposa.  “i’m sorry but i don’t recall every asking, do you ??” she rolled her eyes as the words fell out of her mouth, “don’t you think ‘the universe’ is a very trump thing to say ?? are you really THAT narcissistic ?? “

how differently do you act when you're around friends instead of strangers?

❝ are we talking about genuine friends or ?? you could say that when i’m around strangers i’m more reserved in some way. unless they said something way off and need someone to put them back into their place, like i don’t fucking care who you are, or if we just met, i will speak to you like you deserve. friends (genuine) give you that cozy feeling like you are home, you know ?? it is hard not to feel your best when you are surrounded by friends who love you and care for you and if you can’t see that i feel sorry for you. ❞

dark & dramatic makeup or natural makeup?

as a young, red had hardly bothered with make-up, her youth made her beautiful enough. heads would turn, boys took notice. not much has changed since she was a little girl. usually she goes for a natural makeup look because with too much makeup her natural glow and bright cheeks seemed to disappear and it wasn't herself anymore looking back at her.
